Overview
This 4-star hotel (non-smoker hotel) offers free Wi-Fi and extensive wellness facilities. It stands directly beside the Templiner See lake, on the Hermannswerder Island, a 7-minute drive from Potsdam. All rooms at the INSELHOTEL Potsdam have a TV, a minibar and a private bathroom with hairdryer. Rooms overlook the lake or the green countryside. Some rooms have a balcony or terrace. A breakfast buffet is provided each day at the INSELHOTEL Potsdam. The Seerestaurant serves regional and international dishes, and a large selection of wines. Guests can relax in the new AQUAMARIN spa area for an additional fee. The spa area includes an outdoor pool, a sauna, a steam room, a salt and brine chamber, an ice fountain, heated benches, a nightingale sound room, a fireplace lounge, and fitness equipment during respective opening times. The INSELHOTEL Potsdam has its own boat jetty and yacht harbor. Rental bicycles are available, and the hotel can prepare packed lunches on request. Berlin is 35 minutes away by car. Parking spaces are available for a small daily charge and subject to availability. Dogs are welcome in the hotel (surcharge for accommodation per day). “A luxury hotel where everything works well”
We liked it all. Just the outside pool is smaller than expected and the whole ambience around a bit darkish- however the tall oak trees are majestic. The buffet breakfast is exceptionally good.

We had a fantastic break at the hotel. The breakfast and evening meal was very good quality. The facilities were very exceptional and even though the hotel was fully booked, the areas were always very quiet and relaxing. The location was wonderful. The staff were very friendly.

“Very luxurious and relaxing stay in a beautiful location”
All of the staff at reception were friendly and very helpful, and spoke perfect English, and made us feel very welcome. The room was very comfortable with quality bed linen and plenty of pillows and towels. The shower was good, toiletries supplied were plentiful and smelt good, and the room was cleaned really well when serviced. Guests can use the spa for free, and are given bath robes and two towels each for this. The spa facilities were second to none, simply fantastic, with heated indoor and outdoor pools as well as sauna / steam room and plenty of loungers, and we particularly enjoyed having a beer in our robes in the relaxation room. Although the reception said the Hotel / restaurant were fully booked, it didn't at all feel crowded, and was a very peaceful stay indeed. A tip - the 'pool shoes' they advise you to bring for the spa can simply be a pair of flip-flops or sliders, we didn't know this, and bought the disposable slippers from reception at 4E50 a pair. They did need disposing of at the end of our 4 night stay. The grounds and 'island' were great for exploring, and the ferry from the island to Potsdam was great - every 15 minutes or so and less than 2E a trip (we didn't have a car with us). A good supermarket on the other side of the water by ferry (Kaufland) was great for lunch, but a bit of a trip both ways on foot. Breakfast was fabulous, a really wide selection of hot and cold foods, with plenty of juice, fruit, cereal, jams and seeds, as well as the imperative meat, cheese and chocolate spread that make up a great continental breakfast. Also pancakes, bacon, eggs, even meatballs. The waiting staff were also great and it was run very efficiently. We didn't eat in the restaurant for lunch or dinner so can't comment on that.

Scenic waterside location, outdoor pool, really nice wellness and sauna area. Room had a balcony with water view. Super front desk staff very helpful resolving minor issues quickly and friendly. Complimentary wine in the room fridge.

Lovely staff, nice position on the lake but not much to do in the immediate surrounding area for us. Food selection was good. Portions a bit large for us but lovely.
