Teresa at reception was very friendly and helpful. Location was great and nice grounds.

Our villa had everything we needed, lots of space, lovely showers, comfortable king sized beds, laundry and dishwasher. Fabulous!

Rosemary the manager and all her staff were so kind and helpful during our stay. The room was very clean. The gardens were well maintained and pool was also kept very clean. It was very peaceful except some traffic from the road. Everything was within walking distance, two beaches, supermarket, places to eat and a fresh fruit stand, so we didn't need a car. The only thing we had a bit of an issue with during our stay in Potrero (not the hotel) was that there were no sidewalks on the streets anywhere in Potrero so you have to watch your step and for incoming traffic.

“Love this calm, friendly place”

Friendly helpful staff. The pool, although small, was very refreshing Andrew nicely set the garden area with bits of shade. The flat surfaced beach towels were lovely. They dried quickly and didn't collect sand. The hotel is not directly on the beach but the beach is only a 5 minute walk. Nearby, close walking distance are numerous eating options, several grocery stores and a lovely bakery (hidden in a compound complex but easily accessed). We enjoyed our breakfasts at the hotel. At dinner we had a tasty pizza one night. One night I had the Mahi Mahi with garlic sauce and mashed potatoes. Yum! It's a small, friendly place, where the guests talk to each other, not full of hustle and bustle like some larger places.

“A very nice property for a relaxing & quiet stay in Costa Rica”

Enjoyed our stay at this small 'resort': a comfortable room, excellent WiFi for us, shady patio/garden & pool view, excellent breakfasts & woodfired pizza (thank-you to the fantastic cooks & our server Nicole!), convenience of the onsite restaurant & happy hour drinks, and the grocery store right across the street.

“Beautiful surroundings and great location with all the necessities for a beach holiday”

The hotel grounds are beautiful and within walking distance of two beaches and a couple of sodas, making the location excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a room with a bunk bed: whilst modest, it was well sized and served our purpose very well. The pool area was nice and the Wifi was excellent across the whole hotel area. The breakfast options were also good. We would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to get a bit of local exposure, whilst being able to drive to Playa Flamingo or enjoy nearby activities.

Comfortable units, not too many of them. Grounds were very well kept and pretty.

Great location, lovely staff, fantastic breakfast. We loved the gardens and pool, and its so easy to access beaches nearby. Wonderful restaurants nearby or grab a great pizza at the hotel. Everything you need is here in a wonderful tranquil place. Do try the nearby bakery for wonderful cinnamon rolls!

“An absolute joy to stay in.”

Beautiful gardens and very comfortable rooms, but the location is the best thing of all! Just a few minutes walking from Penca and Potrero.

The beautiful garden, the food (breakfast and pizza), their warm hospitality, the room was very clean and comfortable.

The location was pretty good. Not on the beach but a short walk to two nice beaches. It had a nice pool, lounge area, and a great breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Separate cottages of the hotel provide intimacy. Well thought out and maintained greenery: palm trees, cacti, banana trees, guanaste, flowering shrubs. In the middle is a swimming pool. Without leaving the hotel, we encountered the fauna of Costa Rica: sloths, iguanas, a herd of howlers and other monkeys, birds and colorful butterflies. Our suite was furnished very functionally. The entire facility was very neat and clean. We often enjoyed a very tasty pizza prepared on site. The hotel has a very good location. Portero Beach is right next door, and about 500 meters from the hotel is Penca Beach with yellow sand, almost empty at this time of year. There are two well-stocked stores and a fruit bazaar within 150 meters of the hotel, as well as several places to eat and a church nearby. The hotel staff was very knowledgeable, courteous and always available. They helped us resolve problems with the airline losing our luggage and with our car rental.
