The Midlands Park Hotel is a luxurious 4-star property located in the centre of Portlaoise and a 5-minute walk from the train and bus station. The hotel offers free WiFi, a health and fitness club, and a choice of restaurants and bars. Midlands Park Health & Fitness Club offers a 22 metre pool, sauna steam room and jacuzzi. “Too expensive for basic room and no free parking, stressful staff not agreeable stay.”
No free parking, manager not agreeable, no coffee machine, no fridge. Really basic and expensive for what you really get. I won’t come back.

“We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel - either for a break away or on business”
The room was spacious - a very comfortable bed. Very well presented room with sufficient light. The breakfast next morning gave a great variety of produce and all cooked food was freshly prepared.

The noise in the hall was extremely loud all night, other guest behavior was very disturbing with attempts made to enter our room. Was disappointed in the hotel staffs ability to ensure a respectful environment when it came to the hallways outside the rooms at night.

“My stay felt outdated and uncomfortable, with basic amenities not meeting the standard for the price.”
The rooms felt quite outdated. I understand there has been a refurbishment, but the windows were very stiff, the room was uncomfortably hot, and there were no air conditioners. A broken fan had been left in the room, which didn’t help. For the amount paid, the basic level of comfort just wasn’t there.

“The bedrooms need some work”
Breakfast and dinner were amazing.The pool is very good with a kids pool that is great for them to play by themselves nearly.
