“Great base for Pico do Fogo 🌋”

Beautiful location at the base of Pico do Fogo. Clean, friendly staff and private bathroom. No restaurant but a bar is available on site - you pay at the end along with the accomodation, which is convenient. They're responsive online, and helped us book transport from Sao Felipe (1000 CVE pp), and a guide for Pico do Fogo (6000 CVE total, though confirm price before starting as we had an issue). Also a beautiful place to look at the stars!

“Amazing place near the volcano”

This place is run by some amazing people that helped me with everything I needed, especially given the fact that my luggage didn't arrive on the same flight with me - they helped me with communication with the airline and made all necessary arrangements. The place itself is nice and new, and there is cold and hot water, and also electricity (although power is cut at some point at night until the sun comes out as the solar battery gets depleted so if you need overnight charging for your devices, take this into account). There is also a restaurant with delecious dishes but it is best to book your meals in advance. Overall this is a great place to stay and a good starting point for climbing Pico do Fogo.

We were traveling around Cabo Vrede and decided to go hiking to vulcano on island Fogo. Found out about this place and made a bookong with them. Staff is extra friendly and very helpful and also the food was delicious. They arrange us guide Manhol for the hiking and this was another great expreience. For all travelers which are coming here we would highly recommend this place.

Very good breakfast and a delicious dinner, with exquisite fish — probably the best meal of my 12-day trip to Cape Verde. The room is simple but functional. Keep in mind that there is no electricity in the volcanic caldera at night. The staff is very friendly, and you can book the excursion to climb Pico do Fogo directly with them. The views arw unbeatable

The staff is super nice, they made our stay incredible ! It was a pleasure to meet José, he is a great person ! The food was very tasty. You can feel that these people put love in what they do !

The little town within the crater is a very special place and Casa Helena was the perfect place for us to stay. Communication in advance was already great because our questions about transfer and guide were immediately answered in a very friendly way. We were picked up at the airport in the morning and dropped in Sao Felipe for a stroll where we also bought some snacks. Around midday we were then taken to the accommodation. The drive was a public aluguer which made the transfer so much cheaper and the drives in the aluguers were always highlights during our time on Cabo Verde! We also already met our guide Marcello for the Volcano hike and he was great, too. Good English, super friendly and flexible. We were able to ask him all our questions! And listening to the stories of the 2014 eruption as well as life at such a special place was very valuable. We stayed for a few nights and it was one of the most impressive places on earth that we have ever seen. We really enjoyed going running, hiking, strolling and biking (we rented bikes at the Marisa hotel which was expensive but the bikes were incredibly good). The room was in one of the traditional round houses with a bathroom and had everything that we needed! Also the food was delicious and everyone was wonderful and friendly!! Thank you so much for this absolute highlight of our holiday and for taking such good care of us! An additional plus: the CHA wine! So good!

Location, we specifically chose this area for hiking to the top of the volcano. Staff were lovely and attentive. The food is good too.

Everything perfect

Jośe is the nicest host we met so far on Cabo verde. He makes sure you feel comfortable and everything is fine, told us a lot about life on the island, cozy rooms, perfect view (Pico do fogo right in front) and the dinner was soooo good! We were sad to leave. Showers had only cold water and water pressure is a little low but considering that you are in a village that got completely destroyed by an eruption 10 years ago and that you're in the middle of nowhere, plus it's very hot, the shower was rather refreshing.

Well maintained apartment compex by good people. Personnel was friendly and always available, food and wine was excellent. It looks like owner know what he is doing and doing it right.
