We had a fantastic stay. The cabin is cosy, well‑priced, and set in beautifully quiet surroundings, yet still close to town. Waking up to the sounds of nature was such a treat. The cabin was spotless, warm, and well equipped with WiFi, a Nespresso machine, ect, and secure parking. Explored the nearby Derryounce Lakes & Walkways and the River Barrow Walk — both stunning spots for peaceful strolls and taking in the scenery. The location is ideal if you want nature on your doorstep while still being close to Portlaoise and Portarlington. We’ll definitely be back.

A great location and I was in touch with Fiona once I began my booking process. Totally enjoyed my stay and it had two heaters which was helpful. They had a lovely kitchen with coffee capsules and tea. It was compact and worked well.. A very easy to find location.

“Beautiful, calm, and surrounded by wildlife. Heron’s Den is the perfect lakeside escape.”
Herons den was cozy, comfortable & clean! Not only did it have everything I needed for my stay but it also had the most beautiful location. Waking up to the shy moorhens feeding on the pond was my favourite part and enjoying my coffee in the morning. 10/10 would recommend!
