Beautiful property, amazing hosts and perfect location!

Nice location very close to the beach, quiet, spacious room, nice private bathroom, fast WiFi, kitchen clean, very nice people, very nice stay! And just behind there is a bar (selling out of a school bus) on the beach which is very beautiful, also highly recommended!

It was just 2 minutes walk from the beach and private. The host/owner Louisa was so accommodating and kind. Nolan her security/caretaker was helpful and always happy. And the kitchen access was a bonus.

Great place, one step from the beach. Clean and well maintained. Free flow of coffre is a plus :)

“Wonderful place on the coast”

Tranquil and close to a magnificent beach. The place is kept net and had everything I needed for a perfect stay. Very friendly and welcoming owner and staff. Perfect place to relax and indulge in the Pacific coast. Go and stay here 😊

The room was better than expected, spacious, comfortable, very clean & nice bathroom. Bed was comfortable. The location was great, so close to the beach. Lots of hammocks & seats to relax in. Owner was really helpful.

“Best host and location in Nicaragua!”

We stayed at Wild Waves for two weeks, and I loved everything about it. Gianni and his family are incredibly helpful, kind, and genuinely warm-hearted. The location is perfect, close to everything you need in Popoyo, and Gianni provided us with amazing help and guidance throughout our stay. We already miss the family and will definitely be back!

“Perfect spot in beautiful Popoyo”

Location was fantastic, right in amongst lots of restaurants and sunset spots (bus bar in front is awesome!), and walkable to main surf spots - 10min to Popoyo main, 20min to beginner bay, and if it’s smaller the beach out front was fun to surf too. The host is super in-the-know with surfing so had heaps of good tips. Room was amazing, big and comfortable, with air-con (such a lifesaver!), and cleaned daily. The chap who works there was so helpful and constantly cleaning - so the place is spotless! Shared kitchen is well equipped, delicious coffee each day, and refillable filtered water (for a small price). Would love to return!

“Fun time in Popoyo with great, helpful hosts”

Amazing location right at the beach with many choices of surf breaks out front and close to several restaurants/hostels for food and social activities (I ended up going to eat at Amahula a lot since I'm vegetarian and they had a lot of good options, plus they organized group things so it was easy to meet people). Johnny is super friendly and helpful, he connected me with a cheap taxi when I left and gave me ear drops when I got an ear infection from surfing. His kids are also adorable and the staff is really kind. It was fun getting to meet his family and see their friends who would come by for food, to surf, or to chat, giving the place a more authentic feeling. The rooms are simple but cozy, nice to have a private space and bathroom, though some things could have been cleaner. There is no AC but they have floor fans for the room I was in, at least, though make sure you bring bug spray because there are a lot of mosquitoes around. There's a shared kitchen as well I would cook in-- you do have to pay for water, which I didn't know before arriving. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend to a solo traveler, couple, or a group of a few friends. Johnny and his family are great hosts and the other travelers I met there were very friendly as well. Thank you guys!

The host and his family were super helpful and kind! Room and bathroom was clean and nice. Good kitchen and chilling area with hammocks. Not too long walk to the surf breaks. I really enjoyed my time in Popoyo!

We really enjoyed our stay in Popoyo and this accommodation was definitely one of the reasons! The room is extremely comfortable, bed and shower were amazing. We also used the kitchen very often and we had all the utensils we needed. The facilities were always very tidy and we felt at home. The beach was our backyard with easy access, such a special place. There was also free coffee every morning.

Super happy with my stay and highly recommend 10/10 Loved my stay at wild waves it’s location is perfect. it is the best location in popoyo as it’s close to the main beach breaks and market. Super chill vibe and peaceful at night. For me one of the best places in Central America and the best place in Nicaragua I’ve stayed. It’s a 25 min walk to beginners bay but it’s walk along the beach so is actually really nice. The rooms are really clean and fresh. Same with the kitchen. Norlan who helps in the kitchen is super friendly and makes a really good sized breakfast. Also they have a blender which for me I always appreciate. Gianni was really helpful at helping arranging a surf lesson with a local instructor and giving information about the best local spots. He knows many people in the area so can help arrange anything you need. Taxis etc. I had a problem with not having enough cash because I didn’t realise popoyo didn’t have an atm and he lent me some cash to get by until I was sorted. Again I really appreciate this and it added to my stay as everything was no issue. Also popoyo surfing is great, many surfing spots in the area for all surf levels. The vibe in general is really friendly, very chill and has a super market and fruit trucks which come by many times throughout the day. Real paradise away from a city but you have all you need. A few restaurants I didn’t try because the kitchen was perfect and really clean so I just used the one at wild waves. The only issue is there in no ATM in the area so bring more cash than you need!

Gianni is a brilliant host, super friendly with fun chat and very helpful. Norlan the housekeeper is also a lovely guy. The room was comfortable and clean (it was also cleaned a couple times during our stay), the kitchen is really good (fresh coffee every morning!), there are hammocks and tables outside for hanging during the heat of the day. The location is excellent - just off the beach, near the only two shops in Popoyo, next to several restaurants and opposite a board rental place. Easy access to the reef break (about 10-15mins walk), a bit longer to Beginners Bay. Wifi wasn’t great in our room but fine in the communal spaces. Great vibes, wish we could have stayed longer!

Awesome place to stay with awesome staff! Planned to stay one week, ended up for 3.. Gianni is a great host and always helpful to find the best waves around. Thanks for everything, see you again!
