Talbot House is the most amazing place to stay. Steeped in history the house and gardens are so calming and the team who manage everything were the most professional people Ive ever meet in the hospitality world. We went there go go to a metal concert and even though we looked like 2 typical heavy metal fans we were welcommed with open arms. We intend going back next year for longer and intend to see more of this area and enjoy the spectaculor house and gardens again. Highly recommended....

A unique place to stay.

A very special place, preserving the house that provided respite to soldiers during WWI, and crucially, a place where the motto was “Abandon rank, ye who enter here” - in other words every soldier was welcome regardless of rank, which is why it was called Every Man’s Club.

Unforgettable visit to this historic building

The history, you don’t get to stay in a museum often. Being able to see some of the history in the guest area and then visit the exhibition the next day really made it, incredibly moving. Breakfast was great, we ordered the cooked breakfast as an extra (good to have a veggie option) Excellent value for money as well.

Would stay again

Beautiful building, great breakfast and convenient location. I went to Belgium for a World War 1 venture and knowing the building itself being part of that history made the stay so much more interesting. The staff are very welcoming and happy to help with any needs you have.

I've stayed previously. So I knew what to expect. This place is unique. My room (The Generals ) is kept as was during WW1. Don't expect a TV, or unnecessary frills. It's basic, shared shower and toilet. But it's functional, and clean Full English breakfast also a bonus.

Is there some superlative for excellent ?

Next day I would visit the area with a group and the first visit would be Talbot House. As it's a bit a long travel for me with public transport I had a look for a hotel. I admit, I even didn't realise I booked a night at the museum !! It was amazing, everything about the stay was amazing.

Great stay in historic house.

Always great to stay in this historic house. Managed to get parked round the back okay. A warm welcome from the wardens, a cup of tea and a tour on arrival. Beds were comfortable for a good night’s rest.
