Overview
Built in the late 19th century in neo-Baroque style and with a history dating back to 1848, the 5-star superior Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina offers panoramic views of the Bernina glaciers and Engadine Mountains, a luxurious spa, and an award-winning restaurant. As member of Swiss Deluxe hotels, all of the elegantly furnished and luxuriously equipped rooms feature wired and wireless internet access. Rooms either look out onto the mountains and glacier or the courtyard and village. The Grand Restaurant (dress code for dinner: jacket for gentlemen) you will be served breakfast and dinner if you book half board. It is decorated in an elegant neo-Baroque style. It serves traditional Swiss and international dishes. The more informal à-la-carte Kronenstübli gourmet restaurant (dress code: smart casual) currently holds 16 Gault Millau points. Guests can also enjoy light menus and drinks on the wooden terrace of Le Pavillon. Grand Hotel Kronenhof was awarded as GaultMillau Hotel of the Year in 2008. The wide range of restaurants guarantees culinary variety. The Kronenhof Spa with over 2,000 m² features a lavish pool, a children's pool, a wellness bath area, a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, a stone grotto steam bath, a saltwater grotto, a relax floating-bath, a Kneipp footpath, a relaxation room with fireplace, 13 treatment rooms, as well as a fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment For children older than 3, the hotel has its very own children’s club and children's restaurant. Professional babysitting services are provided. During summer season, children up to 12 years stay free of charge in an extra bed. The property offers Ski pass for just CHF 45 per person per day. In summer, guests staying 2 or more nights benefit from the free use of all mountain trains in the Upper Engadine region.

Stunning location and scenery. The spa is by far the most incredible spa I’ve visited yet. The staff were amazing, food was very high quality. Room was very comfortable and this is a luxury hotel with a personable feel. Fantastic valet parking and staff took time to connect. Breakfast and dinner were truly memorable. I would recommend and return in a heartbeat.

“This might be the most beautiful hotel I have ever stay”
Beautiful hotel with impressive views of the mountains and river. Staff is top notch always willing to help and not pretentious, drinks at the bar are first class with lots of options and brands. They give you a pass card to get access to trains, buses and lifts so moving around the area is very easy.

One of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed out with staff that go over and beyond. The dining experience at the Kronenstubli was also wonderful. A truly personalised and exceptional quality of service. From the reception staff to spa to bar keepers, every member of the Kronenhof team were wonderfully kind and helpful. I accidentally left a rucksack on a train platform and the staff went and not only located the item but sent it on a train. Could not be more complimentary - will be returning! Thank you to the Kronenhof team for a wonderful stay!
