Located in the heart of Ponferrada, on El Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, the Hostal Río Selmo is a 10-minute walk from the old town. There is free WiFi offered throughout the property. “Good budget stay”
Room and bathroom were clean if a little small. Bed was very comfortable. We had a triple room with a view onto an enclosed 'courtyard'. This afforded the room little daylight so we had to have lights on all the time. It was ok for an overnight stay. Breakfast was lovely. A selection of toasts with sweet or savoury toppings, croissants, tea, coffee, juice. Good location for restaurants, bars and the old town. Check in and parking were easy.

Perfect location in Ponferrada, just off the Camino Frances, and opportunity to sight see in the town. One of the most comfortable nights sleep on our trip; a clean and comfy room to suit our needs. Easy self service check in. Staff in the coffee bar downstairs very friendly. Good value breakfast.

We have stayed here before and knew that we would have a comfortable stay. The hotel is close to the town centre so good for bars and restaurants. The hotel messaged on the day of our arrival giving details for access to our rooms and the carpark. It is clean and comfortable.
