“Amazing location with amazing views and a very comfortable, clean room.”

The room was exactly as described, clean and very well maintained. The host whatsapped us in advance of check in so we knew exactly what to do and made the process very smooth. They were also available to contact with any questions. The location is superb and literally a 2 minute walk from one of the main entrances of Pompeii! The view from the balcony is incredible.

It was in a great location; directly across from the Pompeii ruins and close to excellent restaurants. We had secure parking on site and a nice balcony. The room had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast included a lot of variety and the coffee was made for us. The staff were very helpful, including finding a launderette for us. I would recommend this accommodation!

“It was fine”

The location was good right next to the ruins and the Wi-Fi worked.

We were a group of 5 staying in three rooms. The location is fantastic for easy visits to Pompeii and Herculaneum tours. Also close to fabulous restaurants and easy walk to town centre.The beds were really comfortable and our little verandah was nice to sit on in the afternoon in May. Bonus cats to say hello to in the yard. Very clean rooms, excellent air-conditioning with good shutters.

“First impression is bad”

The outside of this "hotel" is decrepit and resembles a dumping ground. That said, we looked to go up to our room, slowly due to our disability. Two cats were immediately in front of us outside the door. My wife has a bad allergy to cats so we couldn't enter. We left and booked a new hotel. The photos of the outside area are misleading. I cannot comment on any other aspects due to the first impression being so negative.

Great location for visiting Pompeii ruins - 3 minutes walk to the main entrance after collecting tickets. Getting to Herculaneum required a walk to Pompeii station - about 25 minutes - and a 30 minute train ride with change of train. My room was a good size with balcony with ruins visible beyond trees. Many restaurants within 10 - 25 minutes walk of varying quality and menus. Predominantly pasta/pizza but also steak and seafood (live!) Prices for one person with one main course and drinks 25 - 45 Euros. Although the hotel was on quite a busy main road, the room was quiet once the windows were closed tightly. The bed was comfortable. There was a kettle and tea bags available in the corridor, which I found by accident. On a couple of days sweet bread rolls were available.

Proximity to the less crowded Pompei entrance

We stayed at this hotel on the day we traveled from Switzerland to Italy. It was very comfortable and satisfying overall. The room was spacious, and the bed was soft and cozy. The staff were friendly, and the parking area behind the hotel felt safe even when we arrived late at night.

Exactly what we needed for affordable one night stay after visiting pompei. Self checkin and key code to get in etc which worked great. A couple of restaurants right beside the hotel, no concierge at hotel but water and drinks available on trust system. Clean room, good tv, mini fridge. All good.

“Perfect location for visiting the archaeological site.”

The location of Il vecchio Fauno is absolutely perfect. Only a minute or so from the gate to the Pompeii archaeological site. It seemed this gate is quieter so we got to explore without so many people around. Also well located for the modern town and train station. There are plenty of places to eat nearby as well. The staff were amazing and easily contactable via WhatsApp. They went out of their way to help us and provided us with plug converters when the ones we had weren’t the correct type. We received a warm welcome on arrival. Access to the reception is via code and the rooms themselves have keys. The room was large and comfortable with a nice bed and a good bathroom. We had a room at the back with a view over the garden/parking area and the hills beyond. Breakfast was served in their dining room and was a nice selection of cakes, bread rusks with jams and a warm potato sort of cake which was delicious. It was a help yourself style which was nice and meant we felt ready for our day. There is a collection of art at the hotel which I believe some was created by the owner. Really interesting to look at, as you enter there is a sign pointing down the corridor that says art gallery. We went to have a look and found the work to be interesting. We also enjoyed meeting the cat that seemed to frequent the stairwell and greeted us when we went out.

It was an excellent location views of Vesuvius right across the road, the lovely square of modern day Pompei just a few meters away which the amazing cathedral and great bars and restaurants.

“Great place in a great location!”

I had a few days in Pompeii and staying at this hotel was just perfect. The location felt very safe (female solo traveller). It was in walking distance from both train stations from Napoli, the entrance to Pompeii ruins was very close and all the eateries and bars were just a little walk (started 150m) up the road, leaving the actual location of the hotel nice and quiet. The staff were super helpful and friendly the couple of times I needed assistance and the room was nice, quiet and spacious. I will definitely stay here next time I come to the area - a definite considering the amazing surrounds.

Simple, small family run hotel to visit Pompeii ruins. Secure on-site parking area 10€ a day. one of Pompeii 3 entrances almost opposite but main entrance about 15 min easy walk. easy walk 5-10 mins to town's main square and lovely church and lots of good restaurants and gelato! owner very friendly and helpful. Fridge stocked with water and soft drinks that you take and write down what you have taken and pay for that in cash (along with parking). good size towels. even small safe in room. supply shampoo, soap and shower caps and lollies! note owner very responsive on whatsapp but reception not staffed all time. east digital check in (send you a code)

“A wonderful and cozy place to stay!”

The hospitality was truly exceptional — the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. I loved everything about this place: the excellent location, spotless rooms, and delicious breakfast. There are many beautiful paintings, but what truly charmed me was the cat-themed one — especially since the real cat from the painting was there too! It gave the place a unique and heartwarming touch. Don’t expect the standard service or atmosphere of hotel chains — this place offers something entirely different: a personal, artistic, and cozy vibe. Highly recommended!
