“Friendly, welcoming hotel.”

The hotel is a straightforward drive from the Fiumicino airport and in a good location for the Roman Sports City complex, which was the reason for our stay. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was included and was very enjoyable - lots of sweet pastries as others have said, but the owner also anticipated our needs and provided savoury options. The attached cafe and restaurant are both very good and reasonably priced too, with very friendly and helpful staff.

“Lovely staff”

Breakfast was very nice. A lovely staff member asked me if I wanted to have something salty for a change one morning and he specially went to the local supermarket to get me some ham. He was very lovely and it was a nice change. All the staff were absolutely wonderful and very kind. One of the ladies working there even had our breakfast preferences memorised.

Hotel (room) itself was cute, cozy, clean and charming, but the staff were incredible. They were sweet, charming, helpful, happy and nice, and they made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Location was alright, 9 minute walk to the bus stop. Bus goes to metro station (25-40+ min depending on traffic) and then subway goes to the city centre (30+ depending on where you go). Hotel breakfast was also cute, there were a variety of pastries to choose from, juices, coffees, teas, jams, and there were vegan and gluten free options as well. Our hotel room had a beautiful view of the mountains and we didn’t even know Rome had mountains nearby. The location was nice and quiet- I usually need to sleep with ear plugs but I didn’t use them. Both our room and our bathroom were very clean. The only downside is the location from the airports- it was around €70 to taxi from the airports (at 1am, and €60 at 8am) (me and my friend each came from a different airport and they charged around the same). Overall, 5/5. The staff really went above and beyond and were super friendly.

Can’t make a review about the room, but i can tell you about how they help you when something happens. Booked a room for me and my kids six months ago. Got a message from Al Gastello at the same day when we we’re arraiving to Italy, letting us know that they have a air condisioner problem and that our room won’t have it. They did found a soulution for it. Bigger family room. With no extra cost. We agreed to it gadly. When we arrived to Al Gastello hotell at 20pm something we found out that they are going to send us to another hotel. We accepted it, ONLY because they told us thats it’s max 1 km away, ” around the corner” so me and my kids started walking like the lady told us to. About 30 min. walking with suitcases some man with a truck stopped just to tell us that It’s dangerous to walk here, and where are we going. Then he looked the hotel’s name on google maps and it said 40 more minutes?! Thanks to that sweet guy who went to his home to get his car and dropped us at the hotel. When we arrived there it was awful! The hotel was not something that would be as the same as Al Gastello. Could not even sleep at all. Felt really bad all night. Tried to talk to Al Gastello, so that they could help us find something else. Which they mostly just ignored us, told that this is all and bye. I’m so dissappointed and frusturated how people just won’t care about others well being and throwing them to the first Hotel they could find. Especially someone that don’t know how to speak Italy.
