“Lovely spot, good value for money, very attentive host.”

The location was really good for us. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the main road but the peaceful nature of the location is worth it. It feels quite remote but actually there are homes around and we never felt isolated. The bedroom is really comfortable and clean. The sitting area has comfortable chairs and two big fans. The kitchen is very well equipped. The covered veranda is a nice place to sit. The host was very attentive and responsive to contact. He helped us arrange a Tuk Tuk and made sure we made our transport connections when departing his villa. The value for money is excellent at this villa.

House is very large with a great kitchen and large fridge. Bedroom is also roomy with a cold ac. Place even has a washing machine and a clothes drying area that had clothes dry by the morning. The owner is a great bloke and very knowledgeable who also does tours with excellent english. Place is a bargain at the price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING.

nice and quite place, close to the center, the owner is so helpful and easy to reach and provided us a tuktuk with the driver who's very nice too. We had a great time with the owner who is also a guide who took us to the boat safari and authentic sri lankan dinner. It was a great experience.

We had a pleasant stay at Windy Villa. The host was very kind and helpful, and the house itself is really spacious — much bigger than we expected. We especially appreciated having access to a washing machine, which was super convenient during our trip. The location is beautiful, surrounded by rice fields, and very peaceful. However, it’s a bit outside the city, so for solo female travelers, the remote location might feel a little unsettling, especially after dark. Overall, a nice place to stay if you’re looking for some quiet and don’t mind being a bit away from town.

Very spacious, comfortable, well equipped house overlooking picturesque rice fields. Host was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had our own transport so location was great place for us. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

“Great experience in Polonaruwa”

We had a great stay at Windy Villa. Hasitha is very helpful and wants to make sure you have a great experience. We booked the cooking class which we really recommend. We didn’t have time to book a tour of the old city with him but I’d recommend it as well.

The host is a local guide who helped in everything. He is very talented and offered to guide us in the ancient city. He also creating his own YouTube channel so go subscribe soon. Rhe facilities were a major plus like the laundry, AC ,kitchen and gas, as well as smart tv. Mainly you will regret not booking this place.

The whole house to yourself, good mattress & pillows, hot shower, huge living room, equipped kitchen, nice terrace with view on the paddy’s, Washing machine to use for free. Absolutely perfect place to stay.

The host knows perfectly how to behave amongst his guests, everything is a private tour with him. We took the cooking class, the boat tour and the ancient city tour. All have been wonderful. His personality makes the whole visit an amazing experience for all sorts of visitors. The ancient city tour is very well done, very informative and super chill to do. He knows all about the place, is a guide for you too and all with the most friendly smile. He’ll make your experience unique and can even help you to find the right food around town. The villa has a spacious set up, including a washing machine (with detergent even).

Everything. The owner made our stay very pleasant, her organise a motorbike and was open and present for all questions we had. We enjoyed the peacefull surrounding, the bird and the nice green ricepaddyfields.....a pearl.

“Perfect villa in the area”

Whole villa with complete kitchen, living room, dining area and full bathroom. Included all the amenities you want to spend a night. It feels more likely our home rather than a villa. Mr Hasitha is also a helpful and kind person. Best place to stay in Polonnaruwa area.

Very big and spacious beautiful house, our host Mr Hasitha was very informative and knowledgeable. Both Mr Hasitha and Mr Prema ( his father) are really awesome tour guides. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for tours. We booked a tour around Polonnaruwa and Mr Prema was our guide. Also very knowledgeable and is a very fun guide. Highly recommended!

“One packed day in Polonnaruwa”

The location is great, though it is a bit outside. It´s calm at night and we could hear animals and see lots of stars. The villa has lots of space and a washing machine. Good restaurants are within 15 minutes walking distance. With tuk tuk the ancient city is nearby. Our host was great. He is well versed in english, so communication is no issue. He organised our entire stay, we even did a tour to ancient city with him and he explained a lot. Furthermore the boat safari he organised turned out to be one of the highlights of our vacation with wild elephants and birds. He also helped us to get to the next trainstation on time.
