“Amazing hotel, much more over expectations”

Everything was perfect, best hotel throughout our all trip to Sri Lanka. Amazing hospitality, great team and good vibes.

“Best place we stayed in during our time in Sri Lanka”

Loved the tropical feel to the place, the gardens, the pool and how it was all lit up with fairy lights. We had a deluxe double room with garden view and it was so peaceful watching birds, bats and the odd mongoose from our terrace. The staff are all so friendly and will help with anything. Thanu, the owner’s son, runs the place extremely efficiently, speaks good English and is such a nice guy. And the breakfast spread was amazing - so many things including the elusive hopper which we hadn’t tried before.

For the price it was a great place to stay. There was a warm welcome when we arrived and staff wee very helpful (eg fixing the wifi for me when it dropped out). The Sri Lankan curry dinner was excellent with a huge selection of tasty side dishes. Pool was lovely. Location was good .

Lovely place to stay while in Polonnaruwa. We stayed 2 nights. Very helpful and friendly people at Tishan Holiday Resort. The team here are so helpful and accommodating , requests , queries and advice on where to go / eat etc were very helpful. We had breakfast included. Extremely wide selection and any requests were met by the chef . And we also ate in the evening too - very very good Sri Lanka food. Beautiful pool and landscaping around it, overlooking rice fields. Just off a busy road, but quiet and peaceful at the property. Peacock roaming about , I saw a mongoose family in the edges of the garden. Lovely to see such wildlife up close. Mosquitoes are plenty here- so be prepared. We had an air conditioned twin room with seats outside to sit in the morning and the evening. Really well located to all the ancient sites to visit in Polonnaruwa.

“A wonderful place with very friendly hosts!”

A very nice place with a very friendly and helpful family running the place. From the pool beds you have a wonderful view on the ricefields and all the birds in the garden. The rice & curry is delicious!

“A slice of paradise”

The staff were lovely, really made us feel like we were special. They were very accommodating. When we had early starts they prepared takeaway breakfasts for us with out asking. The rooms are big and clean and secure. Cleaning done when you want. Hot shower and clean towels in room. Beautiful garden and pool area. Always clean. Wildlife is in abundance and the views of the Paddy Fields were lovely. Food was all homemade and tasted great plus super reasonable on price for everything!

“Warm and friendly and great value with a little oasis around the pool”

There was a beautiful and peaceful garden with a swim marble pool that looked onto paddy fields. The owner/ owners son? was lovely and got his parents to drive us to Sigirya - a far nicer car than we were used to😁. Relaxing stay for 3 nights

“Quiet location and fabulous pool”

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was also very quiet. The pool was fabulous in the middle of a lovely garden and overlooking rice paddies. We ate breakfast and dinner, both of which were huge and delicious. We didn’t need lunch! The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely stay there again.

Lovely people, perfect location, massive pool, excellent and huge breakfast. The wildlife was amazing and we were surrounded by super green paddy fields. An exceptional experience all round. We’d come again.

We enjoyed our stay here. It's on a quiet place, with kind people. We had good breakfast. Room was spacious, clean. And swimming pool was refreshing.

We loved our stay at Tishan so much we extended! It's a beautiful setting + location and the team work hard to make your stay comfortable. I loved relaxing by the pool especially. It's a great place to stay for the price, I'll come back again!
