We had a wonderful stay. The view was absolutely beautiful, the rooms were spacious and very clean, and the possibility to rent bikes was a great bonus. The welcome was excellent and the staff were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. Thank you very much!

“Delightful view into the green, relaxed stay, good food”

The guesthouse has a very beautiful setting with the porch and terrace towards a green courtyard and the surrounding rice paddies. It is conveniently located close to the Archeological Museum as the starting point to all the sites with the only ticket office. It is also worth strolling around the small island park behind the museum for sunset. We received a welcome tea from our host Nilusha, who was very kind and helpful. It's a delight to sit on the porch (with or without a tea), enjoy the view into the green and listen to the sounds of nature. Our room was very spacious, clean and well maintained. Wifi is fast and also available outside while sitting on the porch. It is possible to receive breakfast and dinner at the guesthouse. The home cooked food was very good with generous portions. In order to get around the spread out archeological sites one can rent bicycles from the guesthouse.

The host gave us a birthday cake!! ❤️ Also we swapped our bigger room for the one on the end - lovely views over the fields and we could keep our curtains open too. Melissa organised our elephant safari, saw heaps. We also went on the sunset cruise - hilarious 'boat' (no engines allowed on the lake) with lovely crew - took more pics of bird island than we did of the elephants! She is also a really good cook. Oh and these were the best bikes we've hired so far

“Great place close to attractions but feels in the middle of nature”

Everything was great! The view to the rice field is incredible. It’s close to the main road but yet so quiet. It feels in the middle of Nature with so many birds and a few monkeys around. The food was delicious. Our breakfast was fried egg, toast, coconut roti, fruit, fresh juice and sweet crepes. For dinner the host prepared a delicious Sri Lankan curry set, the best we had in Sri Lanka. We loved the host, she was very friendly and helpful giving us good suggestions. We also had two bicycles ready for us on arrival, so we could explore the town straight away. Overall great place.

We arrived for one night, a quick stop on our journey, but decided to explore a little. We hired bicycles from Man Guest and cycled around the canals. It was an absolutely beautiful and unexpected afternoon. We ended up by the lake for sunset. In the evening we watched the bats flying across the paddy fields as the sky grew dark. Our hosts cooked vegetarian food for us.

Super friendly hosts, very good food and great location. Would recommend for sure.

Super good location very near to Archeological Site but in a quiet aerea. The rooms have beautiful common balconies with views on rice fields.This is the first really clean room I find in Sri Lanka, they also asked me if I wanted my room made (in other places they do not do it and they do not ask). The couple is perfect: he gave me a transfer at reasonable price to Sigiriya in his free day; she is superefficient and very good cook.. I had dinner there, the best dinner I had in Sri Lanka. They organized an elephant safari for me: I went alone with a driver at 1.30 came back at 8. Super good driver and guide saw lots of elephants. Prices more or less the same that the ones indicated in the Lonely Planet.

Location brilliant, near ships and restaurant’s and 5 minutes to museum for ancient site. Lake also 5 minutes a way, beautiful for stroll by especially as sun sets. View from balcony over rice fields great , especially as there is a bat fly by at 6.30pm, hundreds fill the sky. Also great for watching birds,

The owners and staff. All were so kind. I had an accident in the ancient site and the owner was so amazing and fetched me from there. And he and his wife were so considerate in ensuring that I had what I needed and was ok.

This place was one of the absolute highlights of our trip! Room was comfortable and spotless. It had a table and chairs outside that were perfect to relax with views to the rice fields, which were stunning. The owners were more than kind and professional. We also had dinner and breakfast which were homemade and absolutely delicious! I cannot recommend this place enough :)

The hosts of Man Guest are só kind and hospitable, they really try to make you feel at home. The hotel has beautiful views on the rice fields, which you van enjoy during a lovely dinner. Really tasty Sri Lankan curries. The rooms are fine, with airconditioning and a hot shower.
