I had planned to stay two nights but ended up staying only one because the room was extremely humid and had mould on the walls and I couldn’t sleep at night. When I mentioned it the next day, they showed me another room which was a bit better. However I realised they had put me in the worst room, even though I was the only guest at the property. Didn’t like it

Very nice owner’s family. Immediatelly when I came, Kumari brought a glass of lemon juice, offered me a bicycle for quick going to the archeological sites. The Homestay is very cloae to the exit of the archeological site. Accommodation is clean and well equiped in comparison with the price. I can fully recommend.

“Incredible and memorable time at Kumari’s guest house! 100% recommended for backpackers”

Had an incredible 3 nights at Kumari guest house. They made us feel like we were part of the family, and were beyond kind and helpful with every need we had. The guest house is very clean, well maintained, and equipped with all basic necesities. [towel, mosquito nets, etc] and was very spacious with plenty space to relax on the patio which we loved. Food and tea by Aunty was home made and delicious. We were able to rent nice bikes for a good price as well. The family themselves were extremely hands on, proactive and intuited our every need. Helped us with info regarding the ancient city circuit, bus and train timings in general, arranged tuk tuka as needed, and even took me to the doctor and helped translate when i had to do an emergency visit. We were two female backpackers and we felt super safe and like we were part of their family. Great energy and vibes all around and definitely recommend to anyone heading to central!

very near to the bus stand but a bit further out from the ancient city. the staff especially Hashu are lovely and helpful, offering to arrange rides for me. the bathroom is shared which is fine with me and very clean.

The cleanest home stay I ve been to !!!! Fair price, very safe, best water pressure on my whole trip.

This accomodation is ran by the sweetest and most attentive family. They provided bicycles and are located very close to the ancient city of polonawura, really recommend ignoring the people that offer you tours and just visit the sites on your own with the bike! The food was amazing and very big portions and even got my laundry done here which was very fairly priced and actually came back smelling very clean ( which doesn’t always happen when you are backpacking ). There was no one else staying here when I was there so I pretty much had a private room and bathroom! Really recommend !

Wonderful family, a day early (according to tradition, a day before Singalese New Years Eve) they involved us in the lighting of fireworks, ‘to bring us back to our childhood’ as they said. The son also works as a guide and can answer any questions you have, speaks English very well.

The place is perfect. Very homely comfortable feel about the whole complex. It is a Family owned business that is well run and everything is done with care. This family took great care of me and my friend and we would certainly return.
