“Worst stay experience in my life”
The worst stay ever I experienced in booking.com I will poin out our worst experience: 1. Arrival: When we reached there, a watcher told that our booking is not written in their log book, hence he cannot issue a room. Then he called to his manager and after 30min delay they gave us a room. 2. Changing dates: I mistakenly added 3 nights, but needed to change it to 2 days. When I try to change it the hotel rejected date change earlier. When I came the watcher told us they would charge for 2 days. But finally the manager charged for 3 days. 3. Air conditioning: I thought Air conditioning was included in the package, but they told its under additional cost. Hence, I agree to pay for AC. But AC was not functioning at all. But manager argued with us, finally checked himself and get prove. 4. Meals: The manager and watcher even blamed us, we did not order any meal from them. But when I check the package, it already included the breakfast. They did not provide any breakfast to us. Instead they looked for additional charges and blamed us. 5. Charges: We just stayed 2 nights, but they charged for 3 nights (lets say thats fine as they already rejected), but even they over charged with taxes which was not mentioned in booking.com. Further did not provide breakfast which was included in the package. At least did not provide any refund. 6. Overall facilities: Bed sheets were not clean, multiple water leaks in bathroom showers. I've all the records and Im also complaining this case to booking.com as well as Sri Lanka Tourist board. As a conclusion, worst stay in my life and I never recommend anyone to stay in this restort. Watcher is a lier as well as manger is harsh! Beware of this kind of unsafe resorts...

“Great Stay and Value for Money”
Ancient village was recently took over by a new management and they try their level best to serve the customers. Despite few improvements in certain area, they managed to give us a great service.

Great location with huge rooms and huge beds. The view from the outside patio of the paddy fields were breathtaking. Very close walk to the lake, and the museum where you buy tickets to the ancient sites. Breakfast was really good and many decent restaurants around for local food or Mr Grill for western food.
