A very lovely place to stay. We had a wonderful time in Polonnaruwa. Binara is really friendly and helpful; he gave us a lot of advice on where to go and what to do. He recommended a bird-watching canoe tour with a local fisherman, which was a unique experience. Good service, a beautiful house, and great value

“Great place to stay to explore Polonnaruwa”
A great stay, very friendly host (husband and wife) who ran the hostel, paid extra for breakfast but it was really worth it. Rent a bike to explore Polonnaruwa. Single room i booked was not the best one, there are better ones with double bed on 2nd floor, but it was more than OK for me.

“Great value for money in this perfectly located home stay with helpful and friendly hospitality.”
Perfectly located to explore the ancient city of Polonnuwara. Binara provides a welcoming and friendly service with delicious breakfast. The shower was very warm and it a peaceful and quiet neighbourhood. Binara was helpful with organising a tuk driver for our tour of the ancient city and recommended an excellent safair through Kurulu Eco Park.

“Good value for money”
Great value for money for a private room and bathroom with both a ceiling fan and a mobile fan. Kind owners, clean room, only 30mins walk from the main road and close to Potgul temple and other sites although need to visit the museum first to get a ticket. Convenience store within 500m of the property and water refill.

“A boutique hotel home stay”
A homestay with a boutique hotel twist. We've been delighted by the home-made curry at night and delicious breakfasts. The host was kind enough to organise an absolutely amazing safari in Kaudulla national park, and rent us bikes to visit the astonishing ruins of Polonnaruva. Absolutely recommend.

“I really enjoyed my stay in Polonnaruwa at Binara Homestay.”
The house was spacious and set in a beautiful garden not far from the lake and within easy cycling distance of the museum and old town. The room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. The breakfasts are evening meals were generous and delicious. Binara and his family were friendly and welcoming . He speaks very good English and communicated clearly and promptly throughout. He went out of his way to ensure that I got the most out of my stay and was so kind and helpful in helping me with travel arrangements. He recommended a wonderful elephant safari with a very knowledgeable and experienced guide which I really enjoyed. This was a great base for exploring Polonaruwa and I would highly recommend Binara Homestay.

“Great value for money when spending a day in the ancient city”
Beautiful property and extremely friendly host. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Only thing to change is the blanket / sheet is not big enough for one person so I would recommend asking for two or a more regular sized bed sheet. Would definitely stay again / recommend!

Binara’s homestay was welcoming and clean. Amazing surroundings with coconut trees in the garden. They served a delicious breakfast and helped us with a driver when needed. Great location, great family
