“Completely different than trekking but maybe even better!”
The original idea of showing a world that we hardly know in Western Europe. It was amazing how simple but beautiful life can be. Thank you for letting me be a part of it ! ❤️

I spent three days in Barang Village, and it felt less like a stay and more like being gently welcomed into a different rhythm of life. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel completely at ease—warm, attentive, and always ready to help, even with the smallest things. Each day brought something unique. We learned how to cook local dishes together, practiced yoga surrounded by peaceful scenery, and experienced deeply relaxing sound therapy sessions with Tibetan singing bowls. The views were simply beautiful—quiet, expansive, and grounding. What stayed with me the most was the human connection. Even with the language barrier, we could communicate effortlessly, sharing smiles and moments with some of the oldest members of the village. It felt genuine and unforced, like being part of something real rather than just passing through as a tourist. Everything was very well organized, yet never rigid. Small thoughtful details made a difference—like being able to ask for a bowl of warm water to wash comfortably, which added to the sense of care and simplicity. It was not just a trip, but a meaningful experience for both body and mind. I left feeling calmer, more present, and grateful for those few days in Barang.

“Beautiful homestay surrounded by nature!”
This is a wonderful concept - allowing you to stay in a small village and understand how Nepalese people and culture impacts everyday life. The fresh air, Mountain View’s and mountain streams are a break from Pokhara. We stayed 3 nights and had the best time - leaving as family!

My stay at Barang Village was truly unforgettable. From the moment I booked, Kushal reached out via WhatsApp to check on my travel plans and whether I needed an airport pickup.. which was incredibly helpful. When my flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara was delayed, he stayed on top of my arrival and kept the driver informed. I was relieved to see the taxi already waiting for me when I landed. Upon arrival, Aama welcomed me warmly with flowers. Despite being exhausted, I accidentally left my purse on the dining table that night. The next day, I panicked thinking I had lost it, only to find it exactly where I had left it... with everything intact. That moment really spoke volumes about the honesty and safety of the place. Krish kindly took me on a walk around the village, while Asmita was attentive to my needs throughout my stay. She even taught me how to cook, and together with Aama, dressed me in traditional attire.. such a special experience. Tara was incredibly sweet, always checking in to make sure I was comfortable. One of the highlights was the women’s community performance in the evening, which gave me a beautiful glimpse into the local culture. The entire experience was peaceful and refreshing, a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. I was well-fed, well cared for, and truly felt at home. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at the homestay.. Kushal, Asmita, Aama, Tara, Krish, and Anooj. I hope to return again soon.

I had a great 2 night stay here. The family were so friendly and although I was after a quiet couple of days away from Pokhara I still managed to try my hand at cooking self roti for breakfast and harvesting buckwheat. I also went on a walk around the village with Asmita who was very informative about village life.

Barang Village Community Homestay is much more than just a place to sleep, it’s a chance to truly experience rural Nepal. Staying here felt like living alongside the community rather than simply passing through as a visitor. If you’re craving a peaceful escape from city noise, traffic, and pollution, this place is a dream. The homestay is surrounded by scenic scenery, lush greenery, rivers, waterfalls, and everyday village life, creating a calm, grounding atmosphere that’s hard to leave. Meals are home-cooked and made with fresh local ingredients, and you can really taste the care that goes into them. During my stay, I took part in a sound bowl therapy session, helped cook a traditional local dessert, observed buffalo milking and the traditional making of butter, and walked to a nearby river just 10 minutes away. The surroundings were incredibly serene and relaxing, the kind of place where time naturally slows down. A thoughtful bonus: they provide hot water and even a hairdryer, which is rare in Nepal and very much appreciated. I left feeling refreshed, connected, and genuinely grateful for the experience.

“The value of this Nepali homestay experience far exceeds the tiny price paid! Don’t miss this place”
The village is surrounded by beautiful snow mountains, enjoyed the amazing view in the day and countless stars in the dark skies at night. I was warmly welcomed by his mother and sisters, who always made sure that I have everything I need. I’m never bored there, played with the baby goats. Kabi took us out on a 1.5h long walking tour around his beautiful village. Also, His sister took me for a nice 2h nature walk. Visited the village school and had fun with the kids. The highlight is the singing bowls healing session conducted at the cave by his wife! Delicious lunch, dinner and breakfast, his sister made the best Malasa tea I’ve tasted. As I don’t take spicy food, they made sure that the food is always manageable for me. The host Kabi kindly arranged a taxi driver who waited for me at the airport and took me right to his village house doorstep.

“A heartfelt and unforgettable stay in Barang Community”
My stay at Barang Community Homestay has been one of the most heartfelt and unforgettable experiences of my trip to Nepal. The people here are truly wonderful warm, kind, and so caring that you instantly feel looked after, almost as if you were part of their family. Every moment with them felt genuine. The activities weren’t just things to do; they were opportunities to share their daily life, their traditions, and their stories in the most natural way. The homemade food was incredibly delicious, the atmosphere was peaceful, and waking up surrounded by those beautiful views felt like a privilege. Being welcomed into their community and learning from their way of living has been a real gift. I recommend this place to anyone seeking a deeply human, authentic experience far from anything touristy.

The village us in a beautiful spot with great views of Pokhara valley and the Annpura range to the front and lush jungle and rice terraces to the side and rear. The family embraced me from the second I said hello. Every one of them could not be more kind. The food was exceptional and plentiful. Ginger honey tea was offered regularly and was delicious. Guests ate taken on jungle walks, walks to swim in the waterfall etc One night we were treated to traditional song and dance with the local women ..( and raised some funds for a villager in need of dialysis)Throughout the village we were greeted with wide smiles , gentleness and curiosity. At our house there were buffalo and goats...including two kids who provided much entertainment bounding around! The family taught us how to cook, how they made ghee, how to separate rice from their husks etc with much hilarity.. I even took the opportunity to have a sound bath delivered higher in the village in a secluded cave...so relaxing. DInner where we all gathered in the small kitchen to share our food, chat with the family and get to know people from many different countries. Israel Singapore Hong Kong and UK in our case ..we had some great laughs too! I loved the views from the balcony watching the birds flying across the snow capped peaks. Peace personified. Thank you so much to all of you.

“Authentic Village Life & Exceptional Hospitality in Barang Village Community”
We had an extraordinary time staying at Barang Village Community and absolutely recommend it, whether for a multi-day stay or a day trip, to anyone who wants to experience the true heart of Nepal: its people and their everyday lives. We were able to take part in daily activities such as rice harvesting, field work, cooking, and baking. The whole family shared so much about their work, village life, rituals, and culture. We also went on a small excursion with Lal, our “host father,” to explore a nearby waterfall and the surrounding area. Even with only a little shared English, we had the best time together. āmā, our “host mother,” greeted us every morning with the warmest smile and even gave us a traditional blessing. Our room at “Kabi’s House” was perfect, and we slept incredibly well. Plus, the views are incredible! Every home-cooked meal was delicious and introduced us to the rich variety of local traditional dishes—from dal bhat and curries to fresh buffalo milk. A stay at Barang Village Community is an absolute highlight of our Nepal trip! Thanks to Asmitha, Lal, āmā, Kabi and the whole family for allowing us to experience this with you!

“⭐ Highly recommended for anyone seeking genuine immersion in rural Nepal.”
We had a truly wonderful stay at Barang Community Homestay. Kabi and his family are incredibly kind and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we were received with a traditional Nepali welcome and immediately felt like part of the family. What makes this experience so special is the opportunity to take part in daily village life — learning to make sel roti, carrying freshly cut grass to feed the buffaloes and goats, and even trying our hand at milking cows and buffaloes. These moments gave us a real sense of the rhythm and precision of rural life. There’s no internet, which turned out to be a real gift: it allowed us to disconnect completely and truly live in the moment. The food was excellent — all homemade and prepared by hand — and we even got to try on traditional local outfits. The view from the balcony over the Fishtail in the Annapurna, where breakfast is served, is breathtaking, with the mountains often veiled in clouds, adding a touch of mystery to the landscape. The community’s small-scale tourism project directly supports local development, from improving roads to funding the village school. Surrounded by baby goats, Barang offers a glimpse into an authentic way of life that feels both grounding and humbling — something we’ve lost touch with in the western world. We left with a deep sense of gratitude and the wish to return one day.
