“Perfect location to chill and surf!”

Very nice atmosphere and a feeling of being in the middle of the jungle. Awesome, kind and very helpful staff! The layout of the cabana we booked was awesome with an open view to the jungle and two hammocks on the balcony. Pizza night was awesome!! The beach and the waves are absolutely amazing!

“Wonderful secluded jungle hostel”

The hostel felt like a jungle playground to me, I loved how hidden and quiet it was! The shared areas are perfect for relaxing and socializing with the other guests. There are different housing options ranging from dorms to private cabins with kitchens and bathrooms, which is great. The beach is within walking distance and the community of Playa Maderas is very active with lots of weekly events. The staff is lovely.

I basically loved everything! The outdoor space was so nice and beautiful - perfect place to relax and do nothing. The kitchen was clean and we enjoyed dinner together every night after sunset. Talking about the sunset - wow! It was so beautiful. The beach is great for surfing. I'd recommend surf lessons from Rebelde surf. Do yourself a favor and bring all the grocery you'll need for your stay.

I loved this amazing home away from home! Beautiful houses tucked away in the jungle, only 10 minute walk from the beach. Beautiful shared kitchen, and views over the jungle, yoga deck, and great community of surfers staying a long time. Simple, beautiful, friendly, great location, close to nature, just awesome 🌞🌼🌸

This hostel was like a home away from home! Everyone was so lovely and welcoming. The set up is cool with lots to places to chill during the day and a spacious kitchen. Close to the beach and up in the trees, the best of both worlds.

“Surfing + chilling +socialising”

Such a great spot that is nicely tucked away from busier SJDS. Went originally to surf a couple of days but ended up extending due to the chilled feel and lovely people at the hostel. Shout out Phillip and the volunteers, they were great. The kitchen space and the board games were definitely a highlight too. Recommend if looking for some escapism

“Jungle Cabin with a relaxed athmosphere”

It’s a beautiful secluded location on the top of a hill which gives you a beautiful view and sunset. We stayed in one of the private cabins that has all the amenities you need. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff is great. There is a food truck passing by a couple of times to get groceries. I would prefer to stay in this area over the San Juan De Sur party town where nobody actually hangs out on the beach. Playa Maderas is lovely for surfing but also to hang out at Juanita’s Kitchen all day.

“Good friendly and family orientated hostel.”

Location is very close to the beach. Its about 25mins from San Juan del Sur so you’ll need a get shuttle to the accommodation. Its a very steep walk from shuttle drop off to the hostel (especially with food shop and backpacks). Very social, met some really nice people. Hostel makes a big effort to get everyone together and have some sort of activity each day.

This is a really friendly place to stay. Anything you want can be arranged. They have a whatsapp group to let you know what is going on, or when the food truck is coming. Lots of hammocks to lounge about in. Even though this is a small hostel, there are fun activities offered. The howler monkeys and birds come really close to the deck. The kitchen is clean and spacious and well thought out. The cabins are really great, spacious, comfortable and right on the edge of the jungle. I had a little accident and they could not have been kinder or done more to help me.

The location is perfect. Not even a 10min wall to the beach. It’s very clean & the shared kitchen is very convenient. The staff is friendly as well, made us feel like home.

We loved staying at Clandestino. Our cabana was beautiful and had everything we needed. Just a 5 min walk to the beach. The staff was very helpful and nice! We definitely recommend staying here!
