The best part was being just in front of the beach. Comfy chairs and beds just in the sand, to relax and enjoy the sea or a coffee. The hotel doesn't offer included breakfast but the variety is quiet a lots.

Clean, spacious room with great amenities & pretty local decor. Especially enjoyed the A/C & luxurious toiletries. While the complimentary beach towels look threadbare, they double up as a sarong, do the job well, are light to carry & look cute in photos. The hotel decor is nice too, with lots of sea themed ornaments & a lovely seating area on the 2nd floor, overlooking the beach. The location is ideal for accessing Playa Penca & Poor Calzon (highly recommend these quiet beaches - it's a slog of a walk to climb back up but well worth it for almost private beaches!) Also only a 10 mins drive from Playa Coco which has plenty of restaurants & shops. We managed to catch a gorgeous sunset in front of the hotel on Playa Hermosa. In the morning if you walk the beach you can spot wildlife. We saw Congo monkeys on the Northern end, and green parrots towards the south. All of the staff we encountered here were kind, helpful & smiling. While we didn't eat here at all, the food smelled amazing especially on BBQ night. It was a good spot to recharge our batteries after a long, adventure filled trip and just before we travelled back home.

“Paradise hotel on the beach”

One of the best hotels I had ever stayed in. All staff were genuinely nice and friendly, at ease with the holidaymakers, creating a very special atmosphere. The hotel is right on the beach - beautiful! The food was amazing!!! Will absolutely return, without a doubt!

The room was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was excellent. The hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere overall, and the beachfront location was great. There was also a large parking area where it was always easy to find a space. Oscar at the restaurant was especially friendly.

Hotel El Valero and Playa Hermosa felt like part of your previous life that you have really missed. All the staff were excellent, and room, while not large, was well designed and in great condition. Restaurant staff, including Oscar, Juan, and their peers were intuitive and food and drinks were excellent.

My wife and I arrived on a very early flight from Canada, and got to the hotel at about 6:30a.m. - way to early for check-in. Paula graciously allowed us to stash our luggage behind the front desk - and let us access our stuff frequently. She gave us free use of all the facilities until we could check in. So thoughtful and hospitable!
