The atmosphere was very friendly, this is a small green oasis next to noisy Tamarindo. Bartenders are great, the vibe is chilled and hippy Our favourite guests were groupies from San Diego :D

“Grateful Dead themed hotel”

If you love The Grateful Dead this is the hotel for you. The owner has created this themed hotel and passionate about the group. Great entertainment in the evening. Breakfast included.

“A perfect hotel set in a private estate.”

Exceptional, situated in a tropical garden in the grounds of a private gated estate. A short walk to a quiet beach perfect for swimming and surfing. The in-house cuisine was excellent with fresh seafood and meat with the crunchiest freshest vegetables I’ve ever eaten. 10/10. Each night they had live music which was a massive bonus. The music wasn’t loud and in your face, more a perfect in harmony with the environment and the guests. One last thing is the guests, a really interesting eclectic mix of people with a really friendly and interesting outlook.

It was a quiet location and had a lovely pool area. The cocktails by the pool were great. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful.

“Cool themed hotel”

Really cool themed hotel. Food was good. The boat taxi to Tamarindo was pretty handy. 8 minutes versus the 40 minute drive.

This is the sort of place you will love or regret. We were much closer to the former partly as it was just five nights of a three week stay in the country. An enjoyable novel experience with a very nice pool area. The lovely but exposed beach is 15 minutes walk away (so for sunset) and you can easily reach Tamarindo on an each way $5 river shuttle from the hotel returning by 5pm. Not feasible any later by road. In the evening they often have live music (average) and the food is good but the soft and alcoholic drinks are expensive so bring your own for your room or patio. There is a small supermarket very near by, quite expensive too but much cheaper than the hotel. The $35 per head boat tour from the hotel through the mangroves was enjoyable but don’t expect to see much wild life really.

“Enjoyed it, but would not go back”

We liked the location, away from the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo, but close enough to go into it if we chose. The food was delicious the majority of the time. Having a pool was certainly a bonus, as it was super hot and nice to have a break from the ocean salt and sand. There was great seating all around, lots of places to chill. The live music was really cool, made for a good time.

Breakfast was great, the place had a nice and chill vibe and the music event on Sunday was fun. Staff were nice and really helpful. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and had a safe which was appreciated.

the location is amazing because you can enjoy the private beach of Playa Grande but if you want you can take a boat and you’ll be in Tamarindo in less than 5 minutes.
