“Nice stay in Baru”

We had a great time at this hotel. To properly appreciate the place, you need to consider its setting: it is located right in front of the sea, with direct access to the beach, in a small and rather isolated village. Given the seaside environment and the effects of salt erosion, we found the hotel to be clean and very comfortable. Our experience was a bit different because the weather was not great, so we ended up spending most of our time at the hotel and were quite isolated from the rest of the village. It was great, on top of our room with sea view. The staff were lovely, from the kitchen team to housekeeping. A special mention goes to our champion, dear Christian! We also enjoyed some great conversations with our Italian friend Alessandro, who added a nice European touch to the management of this hotel :)

“Nice hotel on a dirty and bad smelling beach”

Friendly staff and very beautiful house completely made of wood. Directly situated on the beach, the sea lapping at your feet as soon as you get outside. The hotel provides the basics you need at the beach. The showers have no hot water, but you won’t need that.

“Lovely stay with lovely people”

The location was great - playa Blanca can be busy and noisy but the hotel had a good position where it was not too hectic. The staff was super friendly, food was good and our room was spacious and had an amazing balcony with a great view. The staff and all other people helping there were very friendly helpful and welcoming. They also helped with tips to get there and excursion etc. we went there with a driver they recommended which was 100k COP. But in the end I think boat from Cartagena would have been the better option. A bit faster and cheaper.

“Amazing, relaxing stay with great staff and tasteful restaurant!”

The service at this hotel was really great. We spent four nights to relax at the beach after our month travelling throughout Colombia, and the people working at this hotel are really amazing. Very helpful and kind. They also helped us organizing trips to Plancton and diving. And last, but not least, the restaurant is perfect! They offer a big variance of food and everything is very tasteful. Even guests from other hotels are coming to this place for their dinner!

The staff is really friendly and honest. They have good food, good location, good tours and nice rooms.

It is in the best location/spot of the playa blanca. The restaurant was great, all dishes were delicious. Great room with see view. Friendly staff

Compared to other hotels at the coast it was the best looking and where the most people are. The other hotels looked kind of dead. Food was delicious and compared to other hotels cheap. Room is big. Beach chairs and umbrella for free.

“Relaxing stay, ocean front views, delicious food”

Our stay at Hotel Calamari Baru was so relaxing! We had one of the ocean view rooms, and it was perfect to relax. We loved hearing the sound of the waves as we slept. Christian helped us with our bags when we arrived later in the evening. The food and service at the restaurant were great and made our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was also included in the stay. The reception staff helped us book our boat trip back to Cartagena which was helpful! We would definitely recommend this hotel. It was one of the better looking accomodations on the strip.

Very good location, surrounded by restaurants but yet, very quiet. The shared kitchen is nice and convenient, it has everything so it’s perfect to cook some salad or store some beers on the fridge ;).

This place is what you imagine when hearing about tropical paradise.  We had great dinner and drinks there, which were very reasonably priced. Also, they organised great private tour of rosario islands and transfers for us.  AC worked well during the night and bathroom was also fine (which is not granted in this area)
