“I really don’t recommend”

It is difficult for Me to write this review, I dont usually write negative reviews, as I think most people tend to complain a lot online instead of talking to hosts in person, this is what I normally do and also tried here, but they would just not let me finish one sentence, defending themselves, as you can also see under most negative reviews here, instead of apologizing I was being attacked. I am also already looking forward at what they will answer to my review here. It’s such a shame, as the place is beautiful and one of the best parts of this beach that for my taste has been commercialised in a way that kind of spoils the nature/beach adventure, the smell of gasoline from jet skis boats and motorbikes🤦 For my taste the breakfast lacks of consistency 2 days out of 4 were nice, but it’s also quite small, And it is served when the ladies decide to be ready, Which is one of my huge points, I wasn’t even given a glass of water on arrival, and when you get up you also don’t get coffee while you wait for the breakfast, I dint feel welcome, more like I was a burden. I am Deeply disappointed and can not recommend,

“Perfect stay in Playa Blanca!”

I think this is the best place to be in Playa Blanca. It feels peaceful even in the most busy season. The two girls, Sol and Camila, who own it (and their mother) are fantastic. They did everything to make my stay comfortable. The food was delicious. I had transport with them, and the driver followed me to the beach and found a boat for me. It's only 15 minutes walk, but the boat is more comfortable. I really recommend DespertArte!

Amazing place to relax at. Literally next to the ocean. The girls are super friendly and helpful, and make great empanadas that we had for lunch and dinner. There’s beer and cold drinks for affordable prices.

Sol and Camilla are very nice hosts. They make you feel very welcome and created a very welcoming and lovely hostal. Rooms are basic but clean and nice. They cooked us dinner and the breakfast was good. You will sleep five meters away from the beach with the sound of the ocean (also not so many mosquitos as expected). If you are lucky you will see a parrot passing by. <3

“Lovely stay on a nice quiet slice of the beach.”

We loved having a little private part of the beach to relax with the sun beds and hammocks. The girls were very nice and accommodating even with our very poor spanish. The empanadas are yummy. The beach outside was nice and quiet even on a weekend and we had lots of space to swim and it was not loud with music. We had a fun little stay!

The location, the hosts, the nicely decorated accommodation, basic breakfast, tasty vegetarian food, very nice terrace with hammocks with sea view.

Sol and Cami, were excellent the food is very good and her advices were great.

“Highly recommend”

Sol and Camille are great hosts, there are only two private rooms upstairs with their own terrace and chill out area. The bathroom is shared and basic, but fresh water at all times. All their food is home cooked, vegetarian and very delicious. You can also refill your bottle there to reduce plastic waste. They also offer tours to different places. Be informed, there is no wifi but if you have a sim card the connections works. Electricity is only available from around 7pm -7am. Very relaxed place directly at the beach.

It's really something special, you can see they, Camí and Sol, put thoughts and care into it. Simple, basic but beautiful and kept spotless clean. The room is very small with a comfy bed and little space for the luggage, but the terrace makes it up for it. Good breakfast and the two sisters are helpful and very nice.

“Location is great, right on the beach”

Great location in quiet part of Playa Blanca (the rest of the beach is incredibly busy), run by two sisters. Yes it is basic, yes you have a cold shower, yes you share the bathroom but you cannot beat the location.

“Wonderful stay in paradise!”

As soon as I arrived I extended my stay! It is in the most beautiful location, right on the sea front but away from the loud music further down the beach. Sol and Camila are two lovely sisters who run the place; they helped me arrive, organised amazing activities like snorkeling and visiting Las Islas Rosarios and cooked healthy vegetarian food!

It was located in such a beautiful spot, right in front of the beach, in Playa Tranquila. Sol and Cami were amazing hosts, very kind and attentive. The breakfast Sol prepared was wonderful. The hostel was so cute, with a bohemian vibe. Of course you don't have the facilities of a hotel, but that's part of the charm of the place.

“A little bit paradise”

The location is absolutely great, the hostel isn't a 5 Star hotel, instead it is exactly what it needs to be. Comfy, super cute decorated, welcoming and the beach is on step next off the porch. I am incredibly happy that I came there even if was just for one night. The beach is lined with hotels but this one is definitely the nicest.

“Little paradise at the Isla de Barú”

It’s a little paradise between the crowded beaches in Barú. The two sisters who take care of the hostel are very helpful. Breakfast and lunch are delicious. It’s possible to take yoga classes at the hostel. The room is basic and clean. During daytime, you can charge your phone (solar panels).

“Easy going and chilled stay”

This charming hostel is run by the nicest family in an incredible shore front location along a quieter section of the playa. It was a shame we couldn’t speak better Spanish as it would have been so nice to have gotten to know them better. it was also so handy to be able to book tours and taxis directly through Sol.
