“We had a great stay and hope to return for a longer visit!”

We had a short stay here, but really enjoyed it. The resort has a younger vibe, hammocks on small patios, pool, small poolside bar, yoga area. Shared outdoor kitchen, which had fresh coffee brewing at 730am every morning! Niko is very kind and accessible, working around the resort all day. Live music at the community shopping, restaurant area was really great, located across the street.

Amazing spot, extremely well kept by the owner Nico and his wife. Perfect blend of a guest hosue/self catering with a great common kitchen. Amazing swimming pool and less than 10minutes walking to Avellanas beach

Very nice accommodation immersed in nature and perfectly located close to Avellana beach and the main cafès/restaurants in the area. The owners are very nice and gave us lot of super useful tips. The friendly dog and cats are a plus!

Location is great - you can walk to restaurants, a playground, the beach and a little shop.

Calipso was for me a gorgeous experience. I liked everything ! *positive points:* - fully equipped kitchen with large storage space - ⁠several space to chill - ⁠very calme - ⁠safe (against human and wild animals thanks to lovely owner’s dog) - ⁠owners living on the spot very available - ⁠very clean garden, swimming pool - ⁠a bar (fresh beers ) and grill at hostel

Nico and his wife are very nice and helpful. We appreciated atmosphere at this property, it is close to the beach and other staff. Not as busy as other spots close Tamarindo even this location starting to be highly recommended. Every morning nice surprise by different kind of animals, like it! Place for JOGA is amazing for chill after surfing!

“Beautiful, very well-kept hotel”

Host Nico takes very good care of the hotel and supports you in every conceivable way. The communal area is beautifully designed and invites you to linger. The kitchen is well equipped and there is always hot coffee. We felt very welcome and would come back anytime :)

A short 5-10min walk and you’re at the beach and thats what its all about here. Also places for lunch and dinner are right around the corner. Rooms are nice and clean, a beautiful small garden and equipped kitchen and an upper deck to relax a little.

Laid back, tasteful and in keeping with the nature that surrounds, waking distance to the beach and good eating options around if you don’t want to venture far. Enjoyed the shared kitchen, and yoga deck and pool, and our host Nico made us feel very welcome, wouldn’t hesitate to recomend or stay again.

The Host, Nico, is a really nice dude! Relaxed but working hard for his Lodge. Great location, 10min walk to the beautiful Playa Avellana.

“The Best of Costa Rica”

While the rest of the hotels/resorts are basically cheaply made wooden shacks with tin roofs, this one is real brick/mortar built to the highest standard. Everything is new, very well made and exceptionally clean. There’s a communal open kitchen with all amenities which is very handy if you don’t wanna go out for every meal. The beach is a short 5min walk and there are many good restaurants all around. The Esquina de Avellanas, an open dining area with multiple excellent open kitchens are just across the street. The lovely young European couple who run this place are the coolest people I’ve met in my trip.

“Great location - unfussy, clean apartments with everything you need for an overnight stay”

Great location with quick access (<10 min walk) to the beach for several good beach restaurants. Right next door to a night market which was buzzing with good food and music. The set up was streamlined but very welcoming. The breakfast was very simple - 2 pieces of bread and an apple left in a brown paper bag. Good idea to allow guests to be self sufficient, but perhaps something a little more substantial is preferred especially if you have a long journey ahead.

This a very quiet lovely place to stay with beautiful gardens and trees. This resort is next to great places to eat and also an eclectic mini mall up the street. The ocean and surfing beach is very close and within walking distance. Great surf! And they have air conditioning and a shared public kitchen! Wonderful place.

“A little gem created with lots of love and attention to detail”

My dad and I stayed four nights over Christmas at this beautiful place. We had the most amazing time. The location is perfect, only a short walk away from the beach. It is super relaxed, quiet and most importantly immaculate clean. The hosts Nico & Monica made you us feel welcome and were always but in no way intrusive. What really stood out is that you can feel so much love and attention to detail in every little corner you look.

“Nice little get-a-way”

I really liked the atmosphere. Nico, the owner, created a nice little get away: beautiful garden, even in dry season, nicely designed breakfast place and kitchen and yoga-relax place. Walking distance to the beach, with some nice surf breaks. The breakfast is basic: fresh fruit and pancakes.
