“Dirty - pay a bit more and book through the resort”
The chalet was dirty. Floors had not been cleaned for what looks like months (if you wiped them with a tissue it was black), the wardrobes were full of dirt and grit, the pillows were stained and bed linen old, thin and stained and did not properly fit bed. The cleaning standard was very poor. We moved chalets to ones owned by the resort and you could instantly tell the difference in cleanliness - the floors shone, the bed linen was clean and everything was spotless. We did not give the host a chance to put things right as we had two chalets both equally dirty and it would have taken a few days to properly clean and provide clean and fitting bedding and it would ruin the holiday - we gave back the keys immediately. The hosts did then re-let one of the chalets for some nights but they did not refund us for those nights - I should have kept the keys as I had paid for the week but instead they were rewarded by getting extra money and still not cleaning!
