Exceptional stay in the heart of Pingyao Our stay at the Yide Hotel was outstanding in every aspect. The location is simply perfect—right inside the ancient city, making it easy to explore Pingyao on foot while still enjoying a quiet and authentic atmosphere. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, always ready to help with a smile and making us feel at home from the very first moment. Cleanliness deserves special mention: the room and all common areas were spotless, maintained to an exceptionally high standard that exceeded our expectations. A beautiful traditional setting, impeccable hygiene, and warm hospitality make the Yide Hotel an excellent choice. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Pingyao—we would gladly stay here again.

This must be one of the most beautiful places in the world to stay. Intimate, charming and authentic. The magic is even bigger at night. A dream! Friendly people, nice location, good restaurant.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Explained the area, what places to visit, how to get tickets and picked me up and dropped me off at the station. A beautiful boutique hotel and I had a great simple room. They had gone out of their way to provide just about everything you need The location is ideal, a very short walk to the old town. Very handy for restaurants and bars.

An unforgettable lodging experience! This hostel mesmerized us with its well-preserved historical courtyard, making us feel as if we were living in a museum, steeped in charm and history. We had the pleasure of staying in both the room in the main courtyard and the Yaodong room. Each room was spacious, featuring super large, comfortable beds that ensured a restful night's sleep. The cleanliness and service at the hostel were impeccable. Every area was maintained spotlessly. The staff were warm and always eager to assist, making us feel truly welcomed. I highly recommend this hostel, particularly in the winter. Its perfect blend of historical elegance, modern comfort, and the added beauty of snow make it an unparalleled choice. Looking forward to my next visit!

“Perfect place to stay in Pingyao”

We were glad to have chosen this Hotel for our stay in Pingyao. Everything was nice, the rooms are very special, designed into the old Temple. Breakfast even for western people very good. In general, the Restaurant is very good and perhaps the best in Pingyao. Quality of the food is excellent.

Yide Hotel was incredibly beautiful and serene! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I emailed across my arrival train and they arranged (for a very small sum!) for me to be picked up- the same on the way back to Pingyaogucheng, which was immensely helpful. On the day I arrived I happened to get an upgrade on my room- can't be guaranteed, but was great. The breakfast was delicious- I had a lovely tea, scrambled eggs and toast. There were many more options and it was unlimited in how much you had! They gave me a useful map and talked me through the top sites to see. Overall a brilliant stay.

The yard is perfect located in the ancient city. We have got from the beginning until the departure a perfect support by the hotel team. It starts from pick up from the parking lot (outside of the city wall), perfect support to enter the city, luggage transfer, yard introduction, meals…….. The rooms are very stylish like we wished to get it. Cleanness and comfort are clear priority in this accommodation. We used the 3 bed room and in the end there would be enough space for 4 people. As well the offered dishes are various and tasty. The restaurant team likes to fill fill as well special wishes. The breakfast is typical with egg-dishes, toast, marmalade,……, coffee, milk, juice. The location is approximately 5 minutes to walk from the most central and touristic road in the Center. That’s for us perfect to be near but as well to have the silent surrounding after discovery of the town. The yard team supports as well to find the right spots and it’s easy to follow the recommendation. Communication was efficient, clear and in English language. Many thanks again - we will come back (next time with G train to Pingyao station and using your pick up).

“Wonderful Experience”

We really enjoyed the opportunity to stay in a traditional courtyard house. Our room was very comfortable with a well-appointed ensuite bathroom, and it was a pleasure to sit outside in the private courtyard in the evenings. The staff could not have been more friendly, attentive and helpful. We also highly recommend the restaurant - the dinner we had there was exceptional.

Yi de Hotel is a lovely, authentic hotel located in a quiet spot close to the centre of the ancient city. The rooms and courtyards are particularly charming. The staff were excellent. The restaurant provided delicious meals at good prices and was preferable to the various restaurants on offer in the town. I highly recommend this hotel.
