It felt like home and was not overwhelmed as I usually do at big hotels . Peaceful and comfortable.

Our stay were very nice, however I would suggest solid panels between the balconies of the rooms as the wooden panels lack privacy.

The balcony offers a spectacular view of the palm trees and the sea. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent and super kind, they even surprised as with a lovely dinner for our honeymoon. The location is just a few minute walk away from The Rock restaurant and is in a nice and quiet area. The pool is also nice for when there is low tide. We really enjoyed out stay and would highly reccomend it!

Really lovely hospitality from Jackline, who truly goes the extra mile for guests and keeps everything running smoothly. The location, right on the beach, is unbeatable. The pool area and beautiful garden create a peaceful oasis of calm. Every meal I’ve had here has been outstanding, and being able to eat on your balcony or sea-front patio is wonderfully relaxing. The Wi-Fi works very well. I can’t wait to be back, such a gem!

Everything. This hotel is a slice of heaven. I loved the tranquility, all of the extremely friendly and very attentive staff, the beautifully maintained garden, the refreshing swimming pool, the avocado and ginger juice, the beautiful cabana and the fact that it only has 5 rooms so talking to other guests in the evenings having sundowners before supper is lovely. We’ve spent a month here in Zanzibar moving around the island every 4 days. We have paid a similar figure for each of the hotels but this hotel stands out from the rest by a million miles. I would 100% come back here again and recommend it to others. I loved every second of our 4 nights here. Thank you to the lovely staff for looking after us so well.

Hekaya has only 5 rooms, so very intimate. Our room was spacious with a balcony that looked right onto the beach through palm tree leaves. The staff took such good care of us and the food was delicious. Super desserts, wonderful prawns. Great pool. Would return there in a heartbeat.

“Paradise”

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is set on a quieter beach, where you can experience more of the local atmosphere. The staff were always friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The pool was inviting, and the onsite restaurant served delicious meals with an excellent breakfast each morning.

“Excellent choice”

Everybody at Hekaya was super friendly and nice. We enjoyed every day and felt like home. The dinner menue was new every day and food quality was exceptional. The garden tour with John was very nice. Thanks for the Aloe Vera for my sun burn 😀. Boat tours start right in front of the hotel. For the time of low tide ( it is very shallow ) the pool is very nice.

What a beautiful stay we had at Hekaya. Nice beach view, lovely garden with beautiful swimming pool, kindest people and very good food. That’s all you need to relax and have a great holiday. Thx Hekaya, hope to see you again 😍 And a special mention to John the gardener, who was taking care of the garden as it is his baby 🥰

“Hekaya is an exceptional place with exceptional people”

We spent 10 days in the hotel. The hotel itself is located directly on a not busy beach, one minute from the Rock Restaurant. At high tide the ocean is only a few steps away. This gives the hotel a very special atmosphere. The hotel, common areas and rooms are very tastefully furnished and very clean. We can see the ocean from the rooms and the terrace. The hotel's garden is beautiful, with lots of flowering plants. John, the gardener gave a small tour showing all the plants and bracelets made from hibiscus and amaranda. The food was very delicious. My favorites were the fish food and the passion fruit cheesecake. All members of the staff are extremely kind, helpful and attentive. Godfrey helped us in everything, he organized the tours (swimming with turtles, butterfly center, Jozani forest, spice farm, fishing tour etc.) according to our request. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and hope to return. :)

“The perfect place to relax and recharge with great food and amazing views”

Extremely friendly staff, the room was very well equipped with everything you need (hairdryer, fridge, aircon, …). The view from the balcony is amazing. The food is very good and we also liked the variety and flexibility of the halfboard-option. If we‘re ever back in Zanzibar we would definitively chose this little paradise again. Highly recommend!

“Hekaya is a Gem”

Hekaya is a little treasure, from the location to the rooms, the friendly staff, delicious food, beautiful garden and pool area. I can't fault this gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our week. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was delishes and the breakfast was plentiful. A great location on the East coast, near the rock restaurant, blue lagoon (be sure to go snorkeling, many boats available to take you out) and starfish bay. Great for families or couples. I highly recommend Hekaya, 5 stars.

We loved our stay at Hekaya. Godfrey and his team made us feel at home and genuinely welcome. We felt we were taking care of and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would love to return to this little paradise in Zanzibar
