“Like be invited at a friend‘s house”

Bibi is a very warm and kind host. She rents out three rooms in her small private guesthouse, which is located directly on the beach, surrounded by larger and more expensive hotels. Staying here feels very personal — you are almost part of her daily life. She is always approachable, genuinely cares about her guests, and does her best to make the stay comfortable. Her lovely dog Hungry quickly grows on you and adds to the friendly atmosphere. The house is well maintained, with Bibi and two staff members taking care of cleanliness and daily upkeep. it’s a local Sansibar house - I loved it - so keep this in mind with your own expectations ;) Guests can use the kitchen, step straight into the sea, and enjoy conversations or shared moments with the host. A great choice for travelers who appreciate a local, personal stay rather than a standard hotel experience.

What I liked the most was the people they welcome you in a way that feels just like home. They’re incredibly kind and attentive, and the views you get from outside are amazing.

“Best place on Pingwe Beach”

The place is amazing. It has its own spirit. I liked my room so much, waking up direkt on the beach with the sunrise. The house looks very nice and authentic. I was feeling like at home. Stefano is the most friendly person I get to know in Zanzibar. He was taking care of me all the time. He took me to the sun set beach, helped me to go to Paje with Dala dala and we went to buy food from the shops, so I had my breakfast in the Guesthouse with plenty of fruits. In the evening Stefano did a fire on the beach, so we could enjoy the evening with a view to the ocean. Pingwe beach is really nice, quiet and for me the best beach in Zanzibar. You have a nice view to the Rock restaurant and every morning a nice sun rise. And I fall in love with the owner's dog, Hungry is not just a dog, he is something special I wish I I had met the owner of the place Caro, because I recognized she is a very nice person. Thank you so much Stefano, Caro and Hungry, you made me very very happy. I miss you and we will see again for sure.

“FANTASTIC”

This was the most special and beautiful place I stayed in Zanzibar. This is not a standard Hotel or even backpackers usual place. Carol or Bibi Mrembo as the locals call her opens the doors of her house for you and with her kindness and welcoming vibe makes the stay and moments with her to be so special. Loved my time here and the time I spent with her discovering the surroundings, snorkeling and having lunch together. Definitely, my place in Zanzibar. Long life Carol and keep vibing as you do. Big kiss!

“Ocean view, in the morning swimming, then relaxing, then swimming, at night dinner under the stars”

For me, it was the perfect accommodation. Direct on the beach, a very quiet area. I did not feel like a tourist. You can also have contact with the local people. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the right place for you but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, with Zanzibar sprit and ocean view from your room, this place is the right place.

Wonderful host Carol. Right on the beach. Shared shower and toilet etc but the host makes up for everything if this might put you off. Try this place please. This is for back packers I guess but everyone should experience a place like this. You don't often get the chance to stay in a lovingly decorated and maintained property with a host whose authenticity and honesty shines through everything. And we only stayed ONE NIGHT!! I wish we could have stayed longer but we had other plans. As we waited for the taxi to arrive to leave, she made tea for us and gave us a home made pineapple ice lolly! What more could you want!!??

For anyone reading and wondering what the catch is, there is not a single one. It is right beside The Rock restaurant. Carol is such a kind and caring host and a seasoned traveller that doesn't want to charge an extortionate amount for people to stay. I was so impressed with this house. Nothing short of exceptional. Thank you a million times.
