We had a nice 3 days in Pelgrims Rest staying at the Royal Hotel (Old Bank rooms) Neat and clean and ideal for people that just want to get away to get some rest. Visited beautiful waterfalls in the surrounding areas. I will definitely recommend it.

“Disappointing”
The Hotel is under reovations. There was no restaurant of bar facility available. They did not seem to know about my booking and I had to ask for everything. The staff member said he is just a caretaker so he knows nothing, Very poor reception and very poor service.

Terrible as renovations caused havoc - manager away with the fridge key - so no milk or juices or water for breakfast - diner was terrible as meat quality was unfit for human consumption - fully charged for to round things off on a unpleasant experience

“Our stay was comfortable and as expected. It didn't blow us away but I never had this expectation.”
Breakfast was very average. It was an English breakfast but not inspiring at all. No honey and the toast was really just warm bread.

The hotel and kitchen staff were amazing, friendly and supportive. just wish they could get paid their salary. haven't been paid for the last 7 months. Inexcusble!!!
