Overview
Offering a solar heated swimming pool and a children’s playground, Dusk to Dawn Guesthouse is located on a farm in the countryside, 35 km outside Piet Retief. The classic rooms and cottages are decorated in country style and offer air conditioning, TV, and a seating area. Complete with a microwave, the dining area also has a refrigerator and an electric kettle. Guests can prepare their own meals using the kitchen facilities in their rooms. Dusk to Dawn Guesthouse also has private picnic spot and barbecue facilities. A Deli shop with fresh produce is on site. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including cycling, mini golf and fishing. The garden features a tree house and a jungle gym. At Johnny’s Arc, children have the opportunity to get into close contact with a large variety of farm animals. Bird watching walks can be arranged. Paulpietersburg is 45km away and the Mkuze Game Reserve is about 126 km from the property. The Kingdom of Swaziland can be reached within 30 minutes.

We loved everything, the chalet, the decoration, the romantism, the location in the countryside, the suomptuous breakfast, the possibility to select a very tasty meal to take in the chalet at a reasonnable price, the many little attentions, the owner Gudrun very caring, the presence of the dogs, of the peacock, of the birds, and so much more. “Wonderful quiet stay”
It’s a beautiful working farm with 9 guesthouses or rooms. So much tranquility, nice voices of nature. Good for a rest in peace. And also for children to explore the farm.

“Amazing!”
We stayed in numerous places in South Africa on our three week trip and this place impressed us the most. Yes it is remote so requires a little effort to get to but that is part of its appeal. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. As soon as we arrived we instantly felt more relaxed than we had done anywhere else. Having sports channels to watch UK cricket was an added bonus! The microwave style meals provided in the freezer and the drinks, all done on an honesty basis, were a godsend after a 5 hour drive. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Add to this a farm teaming with bird life to keep my partner happy. We would definitely go back!

Where to start! The setting is gorgeous, the food is fabulous (both the generous breakfasts and the frozen meals), the hosts and staff are so friendly and helpful, the accomodation is very comfortable... We stayed for 6 nights and wished for longer.
