“Wonderful”

Marie-linne was a fabulous hostess! She was very welcoming. Our room was stunning. Well, her whole place was stunning! Full of character and like a fairytale! Breakfast was delicious. Homemade bread & croissants, charcuterie & cheese, jam, butter and rice pudding. All presented on vintage china! Truly lovely! The castle is right outside and there are shops and restaurants just a short walk away too.

“A comfortable stay in a perfect location.”

We had a very comfortable overnight stay at Il etait une fois, at the foot of the chateau in Pierrefonds. Our room was spacious and quiet. We liked the quirky light fittings and general decor. Parking on the street nearby was not an issue. The friendly hostess provided some of her lovely home-baked goods for breakfast - rolls, jams and croissants. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return. The b&b is close to lovely patisseries etc. We enjoyed the pedalos on the lake and had a very good evening meal at the Castello restaurant, which catered for vegans, too.

Fabulous host with a beautiful house and room. Lots of help and advice. Drinks were available in a separate sitting room. Bedroom was lovely. All very clean and organised. Breakfast was amazing.

The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, right across the castle and it's very quiet. The rooms were comfy, had a nice design, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was fresh, self-made and delicious (made by the owner). This place is perfect for a quiet retreat and some rest. We will definitely be coming back!

we have come back after 3 years and stayed again in this B&B. Top location!!!! Best Hostes ever! Marie is a lovely Hostes and makes sure all is in order for a perfect stay.. Fresh made breakfast: fresh orange juice, home made croissants and bread. French cheeses. And great coffee!

Beautiful house and rooms, amazing host and delicious food! We were attending a ball at the chateau and couldn’t believe how close we were staying to it! Lovely communal areas as well including the terrace and garden. And we love Marie-Line! We didn’t want to leave!

We loved everything about it! The decoration of the rooms, the warmth of the hosts. The delicious meal with our hosts. We have never eaten so well! The breakfast is also copious and homemade. Best croissant I have ever had. You are right next to the castle with a stunning view. I can’t thank our hosts Marieline & Clement enough!!

Where to start?! The quality, style and quirky touches in this gorgeous place instantly made us feel welcome, as did the wonderful Marie-Lin. She and her partner clearly put their heart and soul into restoring this building, creating a truly unique hotel, and seem to take as much joy in hosting as we did in staying here. So many thoughtful touches for the guests, and the warmest, friendly host you could wish to meet. We had the honour of sharing a meal with our hosts and the food was exceptional. It honestly could not have been any better.

Lovely and stylish place in front of the castle, very tastefully decorated… Room was large with a beautiful bathroom. Excellent breakfast with homemade jam and croissant The owners are extremely nice , friendly and helpful. These people are passionate about their job and know how to please their guests from A to Z. The lady gave me some valuable and useful information about sympathetic places to visit in the surroundings. I am very grateful for that.. I highly recommend this extraordinary guesthouse.

A truly wonderful place with a friendly host, delicious breakfast (homemade croissants!!!), spacious beds, great shower, and super close to everything we wanted to see. I wish we could have stayed there for weeks!

This is such a stunning place to stay. It is so clean and the decor is lovely. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and went out of her way to make us a delicious picnic breakfast as we had to leave really early. The town of Pierrefonds is absolutely charming
