“Wish we could come back someday!”

Cretaiole exceeded our expectations a lot, and it's because of Nicco and his family. We stayed in the 6-person apartment for 3 days. There are all the things you need for a good stay, such as Moca kettle for a refreshing morning. We used it every day and it's a good pleasure. Besides, we love the breakfast basket (extra pay required). There're fresh fruits, homemade yogurt, bread, corn flakes inside, feeding us for the 3 days (we ate a lot lol). The activities they offer are also attractive and interesting, we chose the farm tour with Nicco and it's interesting to know more about how they do farming and how they raise the animals. Also it's our pleasure to know more about the family history. Many thanks to Nicco and his family for alllllll the things during our stay. The tiramisu Nicco made is the best one we have during our trip in Italy.

The hosts Carlo, Leonie and Nicco, treat you like family, offering personalized recommendations and authentic experiences that you won't find in any guidebook. Their warmth and dedication transform a simple stay into a lifelong memory. Verdict: 10/10. If you want the true essence of Tuscany, this is it.

The property is an immaculate old farmhouse that is set in the rolling hills of Tuscany, amongst ancient olive trees with every comfort you could think of. It doesn’t get more authentic than this!

Close to Pienza, this amazing house is absolutely stunning. The hosts were so helpful and provided an exceptional guidebook to help us make the most of this stunning area of Tuscany. Fabulous seating areas around the property to enjoy the amazing views.

The kitchen in our 3 bedroom apt was lovely and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the fire was heaven on cold evenings. We were able to do a tour at an archeological site on the host’s farm, which I highly recommend.

Cretaiole completely exceeded our expectations. We loved it! Our place was wonderfully decorated, we had everything we needed to cook our meals. And the food they gave us was special, as authentic as it gets! We loved the family, Luciano, Carlo, Nicco and Fernanda, we can’t wait to go back! We will miss Cretaiole!

Kind and welcoming hosts. The property has a stunning view over Val d’Orcia – you can even spot the locations where Gladiator was filmed from the house. The facilities are plentiful with attention to detail – luxurious skin care products, quality amenities in the kitchen – yet still with a countryside vibe.

We loved this property. The views were amazing, we could see the house where the Gladiator was filmed. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Just a short drive to Montepulciano. We will definitely return here during the Summer.

“Beautiful”

I had beautiful week at Cretaiole. The villa is in a beautiful location overlooking the valley and Pienza and is just as it is pictured on the website. I stayed in the double room, which was very comfortable and had a beautiful bathroom. I ordered the breakfast basket for the morning after arrival, it was filled with fruits, cereals, milk, bread and sweets, this lasted me the whole week and was definitely worth it. There is a washing machine onsite which guests may use, I had been traveling for three weeks prior to this, so this was a very welcome addition. Check in was seamless and easy, staff were very welcoming and would check in daily to ensure everything was ok and to give any suggestions for places to visit. The nearest town, Pienza, was one of my favourites in Tuscany. So beautiful and charming. I hired a car for the week and would suggest hiring a car as the villa is out of the town and there are so many places to see around the area and much easier by car. I had a wonderful stay and Cretaiole and would definitely stay here again.

This place is absolutely charming. Everything in the room was arranged with a great taste and care, I've enjoyed every little detail in decorations of my room, either it was a ribbon with attached little bunch of wheat spikes on my linens, or it was an old wooden dresser with intricate wood carving on it. But the view from the property (it is situated on a hill) is just stunning. Breathtaking. Fernanda, the property manager, was extremely pleasant and helpful, answered all of our questions and gave us super useful tips. I regret that we only spent one night there. Definitely returning.

“Cutest place in the valley”

The best location, among the hills of Val D'Orcia, view from the garden is outstanding and exceptional. Great staff, very nice and helpful. They literally care about you. Beautifull view, I will miss it. It's very tempting to lose oneself and spend a lazy day or two if you fancy. There are a lot of events, and one can not be bored here. Wonderful place to calmly regain vital powers :)

Great location in Val d'Orcia. Minutes from Pienza for food. Breakfast baskets were amazing and fed us for way more than 1 day--recommend. Property is gorgeous, and a great place to relax and unwind. Nicco, Carlo, Fernanda, and all the staff were exceptional. The Bagna Vignoni baths on the Friday night and the running/hiking around the property were wonderful.
