The location was fantastic, offering a peaceful oasis away from San Jose’s hustle and bustle. Beyond the setting, a huge thank you to the staff who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. My friend had broken his leg and needed extra support which the hotel kindly provided. The exceptional service continued when I picked him up from the hospital. They even made a table for him and brought chocolate cake and coffee to help him relax and forget the stress.

The Canal Grande Lodge is simply beautiful, very nice and comfortable rooms with a wonderful view from the terrace. It is very quiet Even so you are in San José. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Thanks to Sylvia for the dinner and Lunch recommendations! The pool area is very relaxing with nice options for sitting areas. The lobby is very nicely decorated in Bali style. We can definitely recommend this place!

Wow! What a perfect little gem of a hotel. This was the ideal end to our stay in Costa Rica before we flew out. The hotel is absolutely stunning. Lovely courtyard and pool. Really tastefully decorated and very private and cool. Lovely host, super friendly and helpful. Excellent restaurant by the gate with some of the best food we had in the country. 10/10 all round.

The property is gorgeous and the view is lovely. We could choose between two rooms and both looked really nice. Bathroom is modern. Breakfast was delicious. Currently the nearby restaurant is closed but the lovely Italian lady at Canal Grande Lodge made a delicious pasta meal for us and two other couples. There was also wine and cocktails available in the bar so we did not have to leave the property in the evening.

Very beautiful house on a hill top surrounded by nature, quiet location, the staff is very accommodating. Absolutely recommended!

We loved the warm welcome at the Canal Grande Lodge. Great Host with good tips, friendly and helpful. Great view on the city. Close enough to airport and city but still very calm. Small but fine pool to relax, quiet garden and a good breakfast. We will come back for sure...

Lovely and peaceful, surrounded by greenery, yet still close to the airport. We stayed for two nights while passing through. The breakfast was great, there’s a nice little pool, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful.

An excellent place for the first overnight stay after arrival—only 20 minutes from the airport, yet already surrounded by nature with a great view. A very welcoming hostess, Silvia, who also gave us helpful recommendations for the next part of our travel route.

Great location, close to the airport and a lovely setting which feels like you’re out of the city. The rooms are spacious yet feel homely and the pool / views are stunning. Breakfast was so tasty and they kindly cooked us dinner as well which was delicious. Silvia and her team are brilliant and look after you so well, going above and beyond when we arrived late due to flight issues and couldn’t collect our car, Silvia sorted everything for us - thank you! We booked to go back for our final night as enjoyed our stay so much!
