“Pleasant villa in quiet location somewhat distant from tourist infrastructure”

This I bedroom villa (#235) at the Residence Resort is owned by Xavier. He rents it out when not living there himself. It is more abnb than typical b.c. It is unserviced. If you want clean sheets, towels, etc during your stay there will be an extra charge. The Residence Resort seems to be a casualty of COVID in that it is not a functioning resort, rather it is a complex of separate self contained villas of various sizes. It’s in quiet area (albeit with some large hotel/resort developments in construction nearby) generally without much tourist infrastructure. The villa itself is spacious and coupled with the small pool and deck makes a refreshing change from the usual hotel room with ensuite. Having a small well set up kitchen makes dining in an option and there is a daily market with food stalls in the Tesco Lotus supermarket car park 4-6pm about 10 minutes walk away. There is also the much bigger Bangtao Night Market twice a week on the way to the supermarket. Restaurants can be found 10 minutes walk towards the beach and 20 minutes walk to the Boat Avenue area on the edge of the Laguna lakeside development. The owner Xavier is an excellent communicator and responded to our queries and questions quickly.

What I love most is the privacy and the ambience of the villa.

The sun deck and plunge pool were nice but a little dangerous to get in and out of. Generally, the place was comfortable.

“Worst stay we’ve had in 15 years of staying in Phuket (and that includes the time we were broken into). Avoid.”

No working TV or wifi, no walls (just an I’ll-fitting curtain to separate the toilet and living room), and the air con in the bedroom tripped the breaker every 20 mins. It was 35 degrees in there and completely unbearable. We informed the agent/manager who said they’d not had problems with the air con before, and to turn the wifi off and on again (clearly worked in IT). We explained we’d done all that and, as my husband is a sparky, we knew what the issue is. I asked him to come out and look for himself. He replied, “it’s not a hotel”, “if you don’t like it, leave”, and that we were “lucky” we were “allowed” to check in (he’d left a key under the mat) after 10pm. I’ll be sure to take that up with Jetstar regarding their direct flights from Australia being ever so late. I’m sure they’re change their flight schedules. Weirdly, we’ve been staying in villas in Phuket for over 10 years and not once had an issue with a late check in. We left, found somewhere else last minute and had a wonderful stay. Avoid this place unless you like being spoken to like dirt.

Very quiet and relaxing place. Host and the Villa communications were also friendly & helpful.

Private Villa was such a treat and the perfect way to finish off our holiday. Private pool and outdoor area was very relaxing.

we had a great stay at the villa and were here for 4 nights. it was spacious and had everything we needed. the pool area was lovely to sit at both during the day and at night. the place was clean, the glasses, plates, bowls etc were all lovely and of a high quality. a beach bag and towels were also provided. it had everything we needed for a few days of relaxing and not far from the beach and restaurants! the owner was also available by phone if we had any issues.

“Great little villa”

Place is tricky to find. Location isn't the best but the area was quiet and not too far from the beach. Propably best to rent a motorcycle to go around the area. Pool and the villa were great. It would've been nice to have complimentary coffee as we arrived late and jet lag woke us at 3am, and no coffee was available :-D

Great place and quiet to chill for a few days. Private pool just outside your sliding doors. Bed & sofa bed is very comfortable. Aircon working well. Private parking space with security guards. Large TV with Netflixs.

“Tranquility and privacy done right”

- Incredibly complete: cutlery, pans and pots of all sizes, shampoo etc. The one thing I always forget is to get olive oil and seasonings; to my surprise that was also arranged upon arrival. - It's in a super tranquil environment to really get some proper rest. - Very roomy interior and absurdly cozy exterior - The waterfall (feature) was the most pleasant surprise of them all :)

A very nice property with a mixture of luxury and home comforts. The hosts have really gone out their way for their guests. A very pleasant and comfortable stay, located in a secure compound with 24hour security. Ideal for couples and families.

There was a minor problem finding the villa when we arrived but it wasn't too difficult as the given google map pin is just about right. The villa was very clean and tidy and well prepared for our arrival; aircon and some key lights were on, which we were so impressed about. The other great thing about this villa was the interior and exterior layout that made us feel very comfortable! This villa is absolutely suitable for privacy lovers with its very high walls throughout and the private plunge pool with waterfall feature was so relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped, well maintained, clean and had more than enough appliances and items.
