Since our visit fell into the shoulder season, Tuna Bay was the only operational resort on this stretch of the island. That said, I would not have selected any other part of the island to stay at. With very small bays the opportunities for beach walks are very limited on the Perhentians. The resort was OK, nothing out of the ordinary but with very nice staff and luckily a varied menu (there was no other restaurant open). Superb snorkeling just 5meters off the beach, incl. turtles, trigger fish, clown fish, angelfish, moorish idol ... you name it.

Breakfast was very nice particularly as we run first thing. Location was very good with a great beach at the resort with snokelling from the beach. Lovely beach around the headland which is an easy walk one way ad 15 minute jungle trek to a further resort the other way. Water taxi can take you anywhere for very little money eg snorkeling with reef sharks at Shark Point or across to the smaller island. Very special watching the sun set from the restaurant terrace.

I really appreciated the privacy during my stay since it is my pre-honeymoon, which made the experience very comfortable and relaxing. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout. The room and bathroom were both clean, and the overall facilities were great. You can go snorkeling right in front of the hotel’s beach, where you can see colorful fish and coral. It’s also lovely to walk along the beach and enjoy the beautiful view.

Tuna Bay is located in a very beautiful location, the accommodation is in the wooden houses, one room and a bathroom, Wi-Fi was excellent. The houses are very close to the beach. The water in February is quite warm, the beach in front of the hotel is the coral resort, you can go snorkeling from morning till evening, the underwater world is perfect, different types of multicolored fish and corals, if you are lucky you will see the family of turtles. But don't forget a good pair of aqua socks, as you may incidentally hurt yourself against the corals and the corals are not the subject to destruction. And the snorkeling mask. Some people were wearing the swimming costumes that protected the whole body, we were happy with the regular ones for sunbathing. The restaurant is excellent, European breakfast and a lot of tasty dishes a la carte of different cuisines: Malaysian, Thai, Italian, Chinese, Indian and not only. About 5 minutes and you will have your delicious dish. The prices are a little bit higher than on the mainland. The staff is really extremely friendly and helpful.

The hospitality was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and friendly from the beginning until the end of our trip. We felt well taken care of throughout our stay. The location was amazing, directly in front of the sea and just a few steps away from the beach. Waking up to the beautiful ocean view was truly a relaxing and unforgettable experience. The staffs carefully tagged our bags and luggage to avoid any mix-ups with other guests during the boat transfer back to the jetty. Everything was well organized and handled smoothly, which we truly appreciated. We would definitely love to come back again in the future. Truly recommended! 🌊✨

“Another relaxing holiday at Tuna Bay😊”

The people - they are so welcoming. The service in the restaurant was efficient, and the food plentiful and tasty. The room was a good size, clean, bright, and had a good number of electrical outlets which you don’t always get at beach locations in Malaysia. The resort arranged all transfers from, and to, Kota Baharu Airport efficiently.

Beautiful beach with excellent coral reef for snorkeling right in front of resort. Great showers with lots of hot water. Resort makes a real effort to be eco friendly, with filtered water for your water bottles available 24/7 at the restaurant. A very relaxing stay- we hated to leave!

“Beautiful, clean resort - loved our stay!”

We stayed in a cabin overlooking the beach - with a reef on our doorstep. It was the beginning of the season (Feb) so the beaches were not too busy - it was beautiful! The room is simple, clean and everything works. The journey to Tuna Resort was easy and they deliver your bags to your room (no lugging bags along the beach). Days are spent swimming, walking, snorkelling (you can hire from the resort plus easily get a boat to take you out). The staff are friendly and so helpful (Ina was great!). Loved every moment.
