The location was good & air-conditioning & fan was great. The bed was comfortable.

Everything was great even for solo travel. I did open water and advanced dive course at the dive centre, the team there are great people and all the Ombak staff are lovely!

“Friendly beach resort”

Ombak is close to the ferry pier and the beach. Their restaurant is on sand, half covered by a roof, the rest enjoying full outdoor. They provide daily cinema feature and most evenings a fire show. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cabins have air-conditioning and fan, moskito net. fridge and warm shower.

“Best To Stay If Want To Do Scuba Diving Course”

We were a group of 4 friends staying at Ombak Dive Resort for 3 nights. We went for Try Scuba beginner course during our stay there and it did not disappoint. Shout out to Sam and his team! Room was okay and well expected. Located at Coral Bay, you need to walk for 10-15 mins if want to go to Long Beach.

“Great stay at a good price”

It is very handy located, beside Coral Bay beach. It was no luxury at all, very much what we expected. They offer many water activities like scuba diving and snorkeling, courses like PADI and the restaurant is great with many options. Breakfast was very rich with loads of food in the buffet.

“Definitely not worth it”

I would not recommend staying at Ombak Dive Resort. Our room was extremely humid, with a bad smell lingering the whole time – it constantly smelled like nasi and other food, which was really unpleasant. The breakfast was disappointing as well, with things like banana bread and cake that tasted like it was pre-packaged from a 7/11 rather than anything fresh or homemade. The staff from the restaurant were very slow to respond and the frontdesk staff made us feel not heard. We repeatedly asked if another room was available since we wanted a different bed, but the answers we got were vague and unhelpful. Things got even worse with the dive centre. We had serious concerns about our safety after a major boat accident, and we no longer felt comfortable diving there. When we requested a refund for the dive package, we were initially refused. After a long and unpleasant discussion, we finally got our money back – but only after a lot of unnecessary stress and arguments. The resort restaurant also doesn’t live up to expectations. It already has bad ratings on Google Maps, and we could see why. On top of that, they host “movie nights” during dinner. Honestly, who wants to watch a random film while eating on a tropical island? Instead of blasting a movie, they should focus on improving the food and creating a more cosy, authentic atmosphere. Overall, between the uncomfortable room, the bad food, the unhelpful staff, and the unsafe dive experience, this was not a good stay. The price is far too expensive for what you actually get – definitely not worth it.
