“Definitely Unacceptable way to treat a large family in this way!”
Upon booking our stay through booking.com. All information was given correctly before our arrival of how many we were, 2 adults,5. children. On the second day, the owners demanded an extra 210 euros to stay on the second day. It seems that there was an issue between the booking company, the hotel and ourselves. As mentioned, All information was sent before our arrival. The reason we chose this place was, it was a good price. We are a large family and we were on a budgeted holiday. On the first night, we had a meal at the farm. It was nice until we got the bill on the second day. It came to 162 euros for 2 adults and kids that only had basic pasta with cheese (We paid for it). The owners gave us an ultimatum, pay the 210 euros or leave. We did not have this extra money available. On this day (which we paid for), we were forced to leave the farm and travel through the night 11 hours home with 5 kids, our youngest being 2. I thought that this was unacceptable and the owners did not care unless they got their money (which also was a question and not clear). Is this the way to treat large families? Is this what the COVID period brings? The owners were very polite on the first day and a half of our stay but their true colors shone through once they saw an opportunity to gain more money from us. I thought it would be good to share our experience to make sure it does not happen again to another family.
