The country-style Posada Mellante is located in the quiet Cantabrian village of Pechón. All of the rooms have private bathroom and heating, and there is a free Wi-Fi area. There is a lounge with TV, and a small café with a traditional open fire. The Mellante has a terrace with sea views. There is also free on-site parking. The Mellante guest house is just 1 km from the Cantabrian Coast and beach, and the staff will be happy to offer advice on local sights such as the Picos de Europa National Park and the Altamira Cave.

Nice location within walking distance of everything. Free parking, wonderful, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic decoration, spacious and clean rooms, comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast.

“Delightful find in a rural area of Cantabria”
Great breakfast and Rachel happy to make sure everything was just right. Posada Mellante was delightful place to stay made even better by Rachel’s attention to detail and friendliness. Rachel made sure that our bicycles were safe and secure overnight which was a true bonus to us.

“Lovely quiet location”
We visited in late May and found a lovely quiet and well kept village with walking to 3 beaches. The hotel is beautifully kept and a pretty place to stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful and speaks good English (which was helpful for me!). A nice continental breakfast was served every morning. There are several restaurants in the village for evening meals but in May several were closed on some days of the week so we ventured to St Vincente or Unquera on those occasions. One final point, if you are motorcycle touring the Picos this would be a good base. It has easy access to the hills but also gives you a nice coastal location if you need a break or if the weather is bad in the mountains. It is also a quiet and safe place to park up your bike.
