Great location. Super nice staff. Breakfast was great. The room was really nice and we loved the views, it was so nice to wake up seeing the mountains. The last day we had to check out really early to catch the ferry, before breakfast time, and they prepared incredible breakfast take away boxes for us.

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was fantastic. Nice big rooms, good shower and a fabulous seaview. Great breakfast and good food. The staff is very friendly and they do there utmost best to make you feel welcome. Nice saltwater swimmingpool for stretching the muscles after another beautiful hike. Very convenient location for extraordinary hikes on the island.

The stunning location and the room with seaview. Staff is very friendly. When we checked in one day early, we got directly the deluxe room we originally booked for the next three nights. Breakfast is good, a lot of choice. But the best thing is the spectacular view of the ocean.

The room was good and spacious. I slept really comfortable. I really like the location and what they’ve organized here: the pool in the center, the bar, and the dining area. It’s great that those features are available. Above all, the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming!

I had an amazing stay at Tienne Del Mar in Santo Antão! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful from the very beginning, making me feel welcome and at home. The view from the rooms is absolutely breathtaking — waking up to the sound of the ocean and looking out over the sea was something truly special. The food was delicious, especially the breakfast, which was fresh and full of local flavor. The location is also perfect — very close to some of the island’s main attractions, making it easy to explore the best that Santo Antão has to offer without spending too much time on the road. Now, something truly unexpected happened: on my very first day, my drone controller stopped working — a major setback for someone wanting to capture the stunning landscapes of Santo Antão. But Elanik, from the administration team, went above and beyond to help. She made an incredible effort to try and source a new controller locally, something I didn't expect at all. Her dedication and support really made a difference in my trip. This place is more than just a beautiful hotel — it’s run by people who genuinely care. Can’t recommend it enough!

“Unique starting point for amazing Santo Antao”

Etienne is a free spirit with creative ideas and an eye for detail. All of this is reflected in the quite unique hotel design. Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast with egg station and lovely homemade cachupa. Parking space right in front of the hotel. Superb ocean view. We would highly recommend staying with Tienne Del Mar.

My friend and I had the most amazing stay here. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are big and clean and the view is amazing. The staff however is what made this stay unforgettable! They are so kind and made us feel extremely comfortable. My friend was sick and they really took care of her, which we appreciated so much. One of the staff members took me on the most beautiful hike, as I didn’t want to do it only because my friend was too sick. Really an experience of a life time and we will definitely come back! Thanks for everything.

“Beautiful place to stay!”

Right on the ocean with gorgeous views and a beautiful restaurant/pool area. Great location if you’re hiking in the Paul valley. Also helps to organise a collectivo back to the port if you need it. Staff are also super friendly.

We had an amazing time in Santo Antão, and Tienne Del Mar made our experience even better. The staff’s hospitality was exceptional—especially Kitch, who energized us every morning with his homemade coffee and positive spirit. Always ready to help, he set the perfect tone for our days. Djon at reception was fantastic, organizing a last-minute rental car for our trip to Tarrafal and offering great advice on hiking routes. After a challenging trek to Ribeira Grande, he even picked us up, saving us from an exhausting return. The team also helped with our laundry, making our stay even more comfortable. Overall, a wonderful experience! Next time, we’d love a room with an ocean view. Best regards, Viktoria & Dmitry
