“Perfect. No stress.”

This was my first stop in Santo Antão, and such a great landing. Danisia was so friendly, and the welcome was very warm. The location is brilliant. My bedroom was right next to the ocean, and I fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Pombas is a beautiful small town at the bottom of Paul Valley. This is an excellent base for exploring the best of Santo Antão, Paul Valley hikes, Sinagoga Beach, buses to Ribeira Grande, and connections to unmissable towns like Ponta do Sol and Fontainhas. You’re within walking distance of really nice restaurants, banks, shops, and the centre of a beautiful, peaceful yet lively small town.

I had a wonderful welcome from the host Danisia, who is such a warm and friendly person. The room was very clean and comfortable and overlooks the sea; was wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. You also get a very nice breakfast in the morning!

The location was superb, amazing views of the mountains from the terrace where you can sit out. The women who run it are super friendly and helpful. The village is also very friendly and a real place, not touristy at all. you can walk straight out on footpaths from the Pousada through fascinating terraced farm land.

Very nice owner, the breakfast was good, with some local cheese and juices, different every day. Also the balcony is nice.

The breakfast was exceptional. Also the host was so sweet and gave many good local tips. (for example the correct prices of local transport, hike recommendations,...)

Danisia is the sweetest host! She gave us a full itinerary for the weekend, made us breakfast, and was just overall a sweet soul. The room was incredible, the view on the ocean is a dream. Would always stay again!

Great location for the Cova trail, and nice view of the sea, with the sound of the waves. The host was very nice and helpful, and there’s various guides and maps to look over in the shared area. Restaurants and markets in walking distance, and friendly locals everywhere.

Great location just in front of the sea, you can hear the waves all night, so calming. Good every day different breakfast with homemade juice and jam. The lady was very nice and helpful and she also speaks english, so we didn't have any problems with communication.

“Fabulous hospitality in Paul”

Fabulous with the best host. Such a lovely lady, so helpful and friendly and gave me lots of information. Nothing was too much trouble. I was even given free breakfast even though it wasn't included in the room rate. I liked it so much I extended my stay. My laundry was even done for for me and I got a little it when I left. She even cooked catchupa 1 night to share with the guests, great hospitality. Good WiFi too.

This is lovely apartment. Homely and comfortable. The large room was ensuite and had a sofa and a writing desk, side lights by each side of the bed and a balcony overlooking the sea. The owner was also very friendly.

Super lovely and gracious host who speaks good English, room and the property clean and safe, lovely and filling homemade breakfast with different items every day including cake and fresh fruit, and lots of coffee! Good location close to everything, and a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal. Highly recommend!
