Staff was nice. Owner had a bit of direct communication which looked a bit impolite at first but in the end all was arranged and you got proper information.

The owner is literally the best person ever! She is welcoming and knowledgeable. She knows the island so well so it’s very easy to rely on her to know the different hiking paths for safety reasons. Photos are exactly the same as the property

“A wondeful stay”

They organized a taxi for us that picked us up in the port and took us to the starting point of the crater hike. The taxi then took our luggage to the accommodation and they collected it. This way we saved a lot of time (and energy). They also helped us bring the luggage back down at the check out and scheduled a bus for us.

Really great location in Paul valley ! The room was basic but we slept very well. The owner is an energic woman with a strong personality but she is always present to provide help and share infos. Just no wifi into the room which can help to disconnect

The location is absolutely breathtaking. Nestled in the heart of the Paul Valley, the views from the terrace and the pool are postcard-perfect. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and soak in the natural beauty of Santo Antão.

Definitely the place to be especially as solo traveler. The owner is super helpful and knows basically everything. She can organise taxis everywhere, recommend things to do. The rooms are all good, even though my bathroom was outside it was super clean and my private one. 15min climb but I knew before booking and was even able to do it with my backpack otherwise there are people who can help. Breakfast was really good most things locay grown.

Beautiful house on the hills with amazing view. The surroundings are very green and quiet. Our room was simple but clean. The swimming pool is amazing for a quick dip after all the hiking.

“Unique accomodation to explore Santo Antão”

Me and my sister had a wonderful time at Casa das Ilhas. We did amazing hikes, thanks to the owner Katelijne, who indicated the routes on our phone and arranges the transfer to the starting point of the hike. That was really great! Each evening we enjoyed a tasty dinner after a long day of hiking. The rooms are basic but contain everything you need, including a beautiful view and a very comfortable bed. We would definitely come back!

“Just like home”

We really liked the hospitality and the care that Katelijne has for her guests. The host helped us organise the various trekkings that we did, and told us which were the best ones for our level. The food was very good, breakfast is very generous and you also have the possibility to have lunch at the table or as a picnic (usefull if you are planning a long walk). Dinners are all together and the food is high quality. If you want to feel at home this is the right place for you. The new added pool is just what you need after a tiring day, and the view will just blow your minds. To get to the hotel there is a bit of a walk, but there will be people helping you out with your luggage, and the beautiful view and great hospitality are absolutely worth it. The island is gorgeous and the stay at Casa Das Ilhas is a must!

Helpful owner and staff. Food and drinks on an honesty box system. Table d'hôtes where people mix and socialize during breakfast and dinner. Homemade jam and yoghurt at breakfast.

A perfect place for those who know why they've come to Santo Antão – and who value atmosphere and simplicity over touristy attractions. Ideal base for hitting the hiking trails – the location is great, and Katelijne is super helpful with organizing routes or transport...or anything you need. You can really disconnect from the outside world here. Bonus: amazing view from the window :)

Everything was so nice, from the landscape, the immersion in nature and above all the people at the property. We felt welcome even before we arrived and we were part of the family the moment we passed the door! Our host is extremely caring and ensures that each guest gets the suitable guidance for their activities on a daily basis. We loved the dinners with the other guests and the sharing of experiences. The food was deliciously prepared. Nothing was overlooked!

“A perfect place to stay to experience the beauty of Santo Antão!”

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, to get to the hotel you have to get up by foot about 15 min up the hill. Be aware that the workers are the ones to lift the luggage. The hotel has a peaceful and beautiful view of Paul's Valley, there is nothing around, not restaurants or supermarkets, only the sound of birds and dogs. Wheter you want to hike or visit the island by taxi, this hotel is super well connected. The best part of the hotel are the gatherings during breakfast and dinner, when everyone share their plans for the day or tell about their experience hiking.
