The owners live above and are very approachable and hospitable. They even gifted our little 9 month old a soft teddy bear and baby books. They are exactly the kind of people who make renting apartments much more enjoyable than staying in hotels. For outdoor lovers, the location is incredible. There are trials which start right outside the front door. There is a 30 minute return walk which takes in beautiful views of the Rhine and a couple of castles. There is a ferry (less than 10 euro) in the town below which gets you over to walks on the other side of the river. Within 1 hour drive, are more trials than you could walk in a year - and its all a UNESCO zone. Phew. There is a supermarket 10 minutes drive away, and only a food dispensing machine in the town. So best to have transport if you are staying for longer than a few days. The house is spacious (it really feels like 90sqm), and very well stocked. The kitchen has every item required. Parking is right out front. At night, it feels very secure and is as quiet as it gets. There is a washer in the basement below, you'll need to ask the owners for instructions (they even folded our laundry while we were out). There is a balcony area's in both the front and back for relaxing. Really loved this location. Wish we could have stayed longer than a week.
