Overview
Just 200 metres from the Danube River, Pension Gambrinus offers brightly furnished rooms on the peaceful edge of Passau. Long-term parking, shuttle services and free bicycle storage are offered. Each room features traditional, light wooden furnishing and includes cable TV as well as free WiFi. An en suite bathroom with a shower and hairdryer is included. While a drinks vending machine is provided, central Passau boasts a large variety of dining option, just 2 km away. A grocery store and café are also only 1.5 km from the guest house. Various boat tours run along the Danube River. The guest house’s shuttle offers connections to the nearby Donauradweg, Innradweg und Tauernradweg cycling routs for a small fee. From Pension Gambrinus, the Austrian border lies just 1 km down the road and guests can reach Passau Main Station in less than 10 minutes by public transport.

“Straightforward Accommodation: Will come again..”
This „motel-style“ hotel has spacious straightforward rooms with a balcony at the front. The decor is minimalist but practical, large shower room/toilet, plenty of hot water. Very clean. Large TV and good internet connection. Ample free parking. Breakfast was modest but fresh. No complaints. Will come again.

Perfect starting point for cycling the Danube. Loads of facilities for bikes including easy garage lock up. Excellent that you can leave your car for 3€ a day in an enormous safe field/ car park just behind the rooms.

“Stop over and long term parking for Danube cycle tour”
We are cycling to Budapest, so this was our stop over hotel at the start of our ride. We left our car here for 12 nights in total (7 days cycling, with sightseeing time in 3 capitals). 1 night was free parking (included with the overnight accommodation), and we paid €3 per night for the other 11 nights. The hotel was clean, smart, and easy to find. The staff were friendly, helpful, and respectful, and spoke good English. The room was excellent, clean, and spacious - it was separate to the main hotel, but next to it. Breakfast was good, and a reasonable additional price. The long-term parking looks great. I was concerned about possible flooding from the river while we were cycling (Passau has flooded in June previously, the latest in 2024), but the hotel and long stay car park are built on the slope of a mini hill, so the car park is above the height of the hotel - perfect! The parking is used by cyclists and cruisers alike. It is well out the way, and I have no concerns about security. Breakfast was good. The hotel is very close to the Danube cycle path on the south bank. We cycled the north bank, but it was a short distance back into Passau to cross over.

“Highly recommended!”
This was my second stay at this hotel in less than a week, as I had left my car there to cycle along the Danube. It was very good to have had safe and secure parking for a fair price. Late check-in works very smoothly, and it's a bonus to have a fridge full of reasonably priced beverages. Once again, the staff was most friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean, large, and complete with a nice balcony overlooking the stream.

“Outside of town and quiet”
Everything was as expected, other than the charge for parking, which, though reasonable, came as a bit of a surprise. The room was large and quite clean, and the staff was friendly and informative.
