The magnificent views were utterly breathtaking, and the welcome and service were flawlessly superb, making every moment a festive delight. The place is a paradise. Reception from the host and his crew was very kind and friendly. Just note that the house is for those with a bit of an adventurous soul. You only leave the house with a kayak or on a trail, but it is an amazing experience. Staying on the deck, counting the stars and hearing the sound of waves all day long is very re-energizing. The house has games, cards, and a nice reception of goodies.

It was absolutely amazing! The photos simply don't do it justice. The house is beautifully designed to compliment the nature around it, with boulders and vegetation blending together around the property. There is so much space and we especially liked the peacefulness and feeling very private. Stunning views of the bay and we spotted dolphins and turtles from the kayaks provided. The property has beautiful furniture and decor, especially the wonderful wine fridge! Ariel and Melly look after the property and are lovely people - they were very helpful and also left some wonderful treats for us in the kitchen. Although it's so special to stay in the home and be tempted to hibernate, the island is really worth visiting. Recommend trying the Jorge Amado cocktail at Donna Rosa's. The refugio is exceptional value for money.

Wow, what can we say. What an incredible few days we have had. We have been so looked after and absolutely spoilt from the minute we arrived. I have honestly never felt so relaxed in my life. We seen possums, butterfly’s, humming birds. I would recommend it to everyone.

Refugio is an amazing place to wind down. Our favourite activity was watching sea turtles coming by and spotting dolphins from the terrace. The place is very new, clean and comfortable, yet designed to merge with the environments. Exploring the island with the kayaks is lots of fun!
