The establishment is magnificent and the staff are lovely.

Everything was great. Food, bed and shower. The place is very relaxed and for someone looking for a quiet place. Location is not the best for the city centre but was great for the trips around (waterfall and lake)

Lucy is truly the epitome of a great hostess. She cares, coddles and gives the very best of her, as well giving the best possible tips so you leave Paraty with the heartfelt promise to one day return. The beds were very comfy and the rooms with a private jacuzzi after a long day of exploring or trekking.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pousada. It’s a lovely and cheerful place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was very good, and the rooms were great and very clean. All the staff were very friendly, but especially the owner, Lucy, was amazing. She speaks excellent English and was very helpful: giving us useful advice and arranging transfers, taxis, and tours, all at better prices than the standard tour operators. She even personally dropped us off and picked us up in Paraty-Mirim for the hike to Pão do Pico do Açúcar (Sugarloaf Peak)!! We can happily recommend this place to anyone. Thank you, Lucy, and the whole team! ❤️

“Amazing stay at Gaia Gardens Pousada.”

We loved our stay in Gaia Gardens Pousada. I liked the design/style with a lot of plants, flowers, and a lot of green with great attention to detail. The room is spacious, with a delicious breakfast, and a very cozy swimming pool. Lucy, the owner, is very friendly and makes my parents and myself feel at home. She advised us of some tours to do in Paraty and surrounds. I highly recommend Gaia Gardens Pousada.

“Wonderful experience! We'll be back!”

Wonderful experience! It's a beautiful and very peaceful pousada. We stayed in one of the rooms with a balcony, it was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the shower had hot water with a good pressure. The breakfast was also fantastic and had fresh fruit and cake. There were even adorable monkeys that came to visit the Pousada in the morning, which we loved to see. Lucy and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home and help us plan the daily trips as well. We'll definitely return again and recommend it to others!

“Great hotel in Paraty”

Gorgeous hotel, beautifully decorated. All staff was very pleasant and friendly, including the owner Lucy, and the breakfast was a highlight, very fresh and great options available. The hot tub was a good addition to the room, great for relaxing in the end of the day after going out in tours around Paraty. The receptionist Pedro was really helpful, specially recommending an amazing private boat tour. Overall, a great experience with better cost benefit than the hotels in the city historical centre.

We loved our stay at Gaia Pousada. We had a lovely and spacious room. The hostess is very friendly and always ready to advise on what to do in Party. Breakfast was good and we spotted some monkeys crossing the garden.

“Relaxing stay at Paraty”

The room was spacious, nice hot shower, breakfast was good and breakfast area was very pleasant. lots of places to relax and read - and Lucy is a fantastic host with great tips and positive energy! the location is a ~25min walk from the historical city centre. very safe walk with a walkway all the way to the city centre - otherwise a taxi ride is R25. overall nice location but good to be informed about the extra physical effort or cost to be based there.

Lucy ( the English speaking ) hostess was so helpful with taxi and excursion bookings & general advice. The room was clean and a very nice breakfast. Free car parking very helpful.

“Do not overlook this homely place with big comfy beds!”

The whole place felt very homely! The rooms were a good size and had everything we needed, even a small fridge in the room which is always handy. The bed was also huge and comfy! The team were also all great - Lucy made us feel at home (it was lovely to speak English with someone who speaks it so well!), and everyone else was always helpful and smiley. Breakfast was also excellent - lots of options and varied from day to day. Lucy mentioned that some people had been put off staying here because of the 'distance' from the historic centre but honestly it's a 15-20mins walk (depending on your speed) and we much prefer to be out of the centre and know we'll get a good night's sleep because it was so peaceful!!
