So comfy and bright, worth views over the sea and wild birds, we loved our stay, everything was as described and the staff were very attentive and helpful, the free bus into Paraty stops outside and the local beach bars good fun

Beautiful clean and cosy apartment with everything we could possibly need. A beautiful sea view in a gentle, pretty area away from the tourist bustle. However it was an easy 10 minute drive to see the sights of Paraty. The host was excellent and very responsive.

The room is great. Clean and cozy. I love the kitchen and we can make food we want. I feel a stay of 3 nights is quite enough to explore Paraty. If u r a nature lover please visit the ecological park----it is awesome!

Staying at Calamar Flats Paraty was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by our incredible host, Roberto. The apartment itself was impeccable - spotlessly clean, spacious, and equipped with modern amenities that made our stay feel like a luxurious retreat. The pool was a refreshing oasis, perfect for cooling off in the Brazilian heat, and the comfortable beds ensured we had restful nights of sleep. The location was ideal - nestled in a peaceful area yet still close to the beach, charming bars, and a convenient supermarket. Roberto's attentiveness to our needs and his invaluable recommendations for local beaches and excursions truly enhanced our experience, making us feel like cherished members of the family. Without a doubt, Calamar Flats Paraty deserves a glowing 5-star rating!

Fabulous host. Very responsive. She gave us really good suggestions about where to eat, etc. Please for super clean and compact. Bathroom was very small, so if you have a big person, it will be hard.

“Wonderful self-catering apartments on the outskirts of Paraty town”

The owner (Roberto) is very friendly and happy to advise about things to do in the area. Breakfast wasn't included in the rental, but we knew this before booking. Nevertheless, the kitchen is well equipped with microwave, 4 flame cooking hob, small oven that also doubles as a toaster. The refrigerator / freezer were new. The owner also provided a Dolce Gusto expresso coffee machine and several coffee pods to get us started. Instant coffee, sugar were also provided. Enough plates and cutlery for 4 pax. My only request would be a proper electric kettle to boil water for making tea (the coffee maker and microwave just don't quite do the job properly) and a couple of big tea mugs or a 500ml teapot would have been perfect. The apartment has 2 flat screen TV's with mostly only Brazilian channels. WIFI seemed to work very well. 2 A/C units in the bedroom and living room. Table + 4 chairs, sofa, clothes-drying rack and there is a dedicated sink for washing clothes in the bathroom. A bar of soap is provided, but no shower gel or shampoo. The property has a private pool and 4 dedicated parking spaces in front of the building; however, there is plenty of free parking on the street opposite. The property overlooks the beach and the street has several restaurants, food kiosks, and a small supermarket, all within 5 minutes walk. Also, from the beach, it is possible to hire motor boats to the islands, kayaks, and there was even a massage tent (January 2024). The property is less than 10 minutes drive from the main carpark at the bridge into the historic part of downtown Paraty, and public parking system cost a little more than BRL $2 per hour. “The best of Paraty!”

This is a brand new very well maintained accommodation and probably the best one to stay in if you’re visiting Paraty. The host does everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The towels and bedlinnen are fresh and everything is extremely clean.
