Quiet and peaceful well set up cabin in lovely location central to exploring The Catlins. Very comfortable accommodation. Recommended.

Just a beautiful place. Great view. Really comfy place to stay. With everything we needed. Our host were friendly and helpful when we arrived and when we left. Highly recommended especially if you want peace and quite and a bit off the beaten track. Just wonderful.

A wounderful place with a very comfortable studio. All has been just a dream. The owners are deliciously friendly and Fergus is an artist you can visit his atelier giving on a wonderful view. Go and enjoy and book for more than 2 night you won't regret it !

“Beautiful Catlins”

Fergus and Mary were lovely. They had provided great maps and books with information about the area. The cabin had lovely views to the water. Very comfortable.

It was as expected for the cost. The location is amazing as is the view. The host was friendly and helpful. The cabin is dated, so don’t expect too much comfort. But it was ideal for a one night stop over. Bring supplies as very little nearby.

Perfectly located. It was a great base to explore nearby beaches along the coast. The Lost Gypsy was unexpected and definitely worth a visit and peaks kitchen makes fantastic food.

We were looking for a Catlin experience and this accommodation and location was exactly what we were looking for. Great hosts, and stunning scenery from the back door

So quiet. Views thru to ocean and sounds of waves. Cottage is older, but very clean and comfortable. Fergus and Mary are lovely people. There’s very limited supplies once you are there, so take some food to cook. There’s a plug in cook top. The estuary was a nice walk after dinner and we saw a sea lion which was very special. We recommend the cottage!

Great location in the Catlins. A cosy apartment that has good amenities for a comfortable stay and a good view over the ocean. Hosts were very welcoming.

We loved our stay in the little cottage on the hill at Papatowhai. The view was spectacular and the cottage was cosy with all we needed to create a simple dinner at night.
