I had the pleasure of staying at Kunang Kunang Heritage Village in Langkawi for 4 nights, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stepped back in time—beautifully preserving traditional Malaysian heritage while still offering all the modern comforts you need. Our villa was absolutely perfect. The attention to detail in maintaining the heritage design was incredible, yet it was complemented by thoughtful amenities like excellent air conditioning, which made our stay extremely comfortable in the tropical climate. What really made our stay special was the staff. They were nothing short of amazing—always warm, welcoming, and ready with a genuine smile. They embodied true Malaysian hospitality and made us feel right at home throughout our stay. Breakfast each morning was also very good, with a great selection to start the day. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and experience these unique heritage villas again on future trips. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something truly special in Langkawi!

The ambience and quiet surroundings.

The setting is beautiful, with the experience of staying in the traditional house (even though modernised & air conditioned) was thoroughly worth it.

Truly beautiful place to stay, lovely staff and facilities. Villas are amazing! I do not love insects, I read a few reviews and was a little worried however we had no issues at all. Room was spotless and the mosquito nets were extremely efficient. I specifically booked an off the ground villa to lessen chances of bugs so maybe that helps!

“The prefect Malaysian Retreat/ Getaway!”

Love the heritage houses! The property was well maintained and very quiet. It was surrounded by nature but yet only about 15min drive from the airport and very easy to get to town by Grab (which the staff was always willing to help). The breakfast they served was amazing and very authentic! The restaurant right by the pool is very charming and calm, coming from Hong Kong, we really enjoyed the dinner there on the first night. The highlight have to be the floating pool in the lotus pond! Our six year old loved it and so did we while slipping on drinks offered from the bar.

Amazing Malay villas with many local elements, everything inside fits together and gives a unique atmosphere. Really nice swimming pool inside of a lily pond. Varied breakfast included in the price of the stay. There are some local breakfast dishes as well as more western food. The proximity of the airport is evident, but if you go to sleep early and wake up early it shouldn’t be a problem. There are a couple of bird species living inside of the villa complex so you can hear really exotic birdsongs all the time. If you don’t tolerate well chickens announcing sunrise, better bring earplugs.

I had a wonderful stay at Kunang-kunang Heritage Villa and loved the experience of staying in a traditional Malay kampung house with its old charm thoughtfully combined with modern facilities. The villa is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature and a serene lake. The kids had great fun in the floating pool within the lotus pond, and we really enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the gazebo by the tranquil lake. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially En Rais.

The location is stunning! The nearby pond really makes it very special. The villas are beautiful, very spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was really good (try the cheese omelette). The restaurant serves fantastic set lunch menus, probably the best food I had not only in Langkawi but in Malaysia overall. The staff is very sweet and kind. My favourite part about the property is the pool, floating on the lotus pond.
