Good location, across the road from the beach and restaurants nearby. Stayed in the en-suite double bed room with AC - which we’re glad we opted for as the rooms get hot. Very quiet but was perfect for our few nights.

The staff is really cool, and fun to hang out with. We had some fun jam sessions, and got invited to a really cool reggae show on the beach!

Love this hostel and the entire BalokPeople team. I had so much fun here. 16 cats, free drinking water, clean bathroom, comfy beds, peaceful area, great location, easy to go anywhere, very near to the beach. The best part is the staff. We had so much fun together, they invited me to their beach party and we enjoyed alotttt. They went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I already miss boy, lili, our BalokPeople team and the cats. Thank you for making my stay so much fun. 100% recommended.

“Perfect Stay near Pantai Cenang”

Gecko Guesthouse is perfect, before finalizing our stay, I spent a lot of time and was very confused on which hotel to stay in Langkawi but I am glad that we chose this. The place is great, we took the deluxe room which was quite big and with a big washroom. It is also at the entrance so no noise at night, actually there was quite less noise anyways. There is also a seating area just outside the room which is very very useful to dry clothes (Do not underestimate the value as everything will be wet). The common area is great too, 6 Ringitt Tiger Beers, 10 Ringitt Cocktails, can't beat it. Also the joy to meet fellow travellers, they also have a sort of barbeque night with live music which is again great. Lots of cats which mind their own business and are great to play with as well. The staff are good and would help you wherever needed. The place is green with a lot of plants. Check In and Check out were a breeze, they do not take any deposit as well. If I visit Langkawi again, I would definitely stay at Gecko. Loved it! Oh and the location is great too, just a 5 minute leisure walk to the beach.

“Comfortable and social hostel”

Absolutely loved this hostel, one of the best I have stayed in! The staff were lovely and would do anything to help you out and there was a lovely social aspect to the hostel too. The rooms had fans to keep them cool & were clean. I can’t wait to return! Thanks for a great stay☺️

Good location and good stay if youre on a budget. There is free water, and you can buy drinks at reception.

Beautiful little bungalow, very comfortable - patio with hammock outside. Cosy common area to hang, very friendly and helpful staff. Great location - close to beach and excellent affordable restaurants and bars. Highly recommend!!

“Great vibes”

We had a private room with a bathroom, it was basic but clean. We were greeted on arrival and offered a room spray if we were affected by mosquitoes, which we weren't. The room stayed nice and cool due to good A/C plus a fan. The location was amazing, with a 5-minute walk to the beach and a few minutes' walk to a good, budget-friendly breakfast (not banana leaf). Good vibes. If you love cats this is the place for you and there is a water station which is a nice touch.
