“Heartwarming hospitality and a cozy stay in a warm country”

1. Hospitality: The host seems to genuinely love his job and, as he said himself, "travels" without leaving home. You can really feel it—he is naturally curious, wants to learn about the country we came from, and shares stories about his own. We enjoyed the natural evening conversations and his sincere desire to understand how to improve the guest experience. 2. Authenticity: All the details shown in the photos accurately reflect a real, traditional Cretan house. You get exactly what is promised. One shouldn't expect modern solutions or contemporary comfort. The domestic cat—seemingly a permanent resident—became our friend. 3. Location: The house is located away from the main street, though even there the traffic is minimal. Overall, it was quiet both in the house and the surrounding area. The courtyard is lovely, offering different spaces to spend time in, which was a real gift when traveling with a child. The loudest noise came from a nearby pool where kids occasionally squealed. We also happened to be there during some nearby construction. 4. Breakfast: A few of them prepare breakfast together, trying to listen to everyone's needs and serve homemade food. The jams are homemade, the olive oil is pressed from their own olive trees, and the cheeses, although from nearby shops, are carefully selected to be the best. For example, when they heard that we eat more vegetables in Lithuania, they started preparing an extra plate of vegetables for us. 5. The host's attention to detail: He simply took care of us. The sun is shining in our eyes? A curtain is hung the next day. The child feels uncomfortable in a new environment? Breakfast is served in a different space. More coffee? Ice cream? Homemade wine? A stronger drink? Without being intrusive, we felt that we truly mattered to him.

That was the best holiday in Greece! The apartment was fantastic, but the host made everything perfect. I've never experienced such a friendly, kind, and accommodating host. He spoiled us and even catered to my vegan diet. I hope we can come back soon!

Marco is absolutely perfect host and the breakfast in the garden was the best!😍 The apartment was huge and clean, big and comfy bed, great location - 2 minutes to a restaurant or a shop, a few minutes to the beach, yet in a quiet street. They even cleaned the apartment daily! It was an apartment with more than a 5 star hotel service.:)

“Perfect Cretan hospitality”

From the minute I walked in I loved this property. I’ve stayed in numerous places in this village, but this is so far, my favourite! A warm welcome from the owner, a lovely spacious apartment with a huge veranda over looking the garden. Also a fabulous breakfast included, as well as a bottle of local wine ( not with breakfast ;) ) very central to everything. I’ll be back for sure!

This accommodation is absolutely unique. We travel a lot, but we have never experienced such wonderful and caring hosts. Marcos is absolutely great, striving to ensure guest satisfaction. Every day, he made sure that everything was okay. A bottle of wine awaited us upon arrival, and Marcos provided us with local delicacies throughout our stay. The apartment is beautiful, tastefully furnished, very clean, with a lovely terrace. The bedroom upstairs can get a little warm (well, during our stay it was 36°C during the day and 25°C at night 😊!), but the well-placed air conditioning cools it down nicely. The breakfasts, served in the charming garden, are absolutely amazing. Every day there is fresh bread, coffee, juice, cheese, salami, jams, honey, various egg dishes, pastry, fruit... The house is located in a very peaceful and quiet part of Panormos, a four-minute walk from the nearest beach; shops and restaurants are also within easy reach, literally two minutes away. Panormos is a peaceful place, that does not suffer from overtourism. We really loved the stay at Marcos' charming place, and if we return to Crete, we will definitely stay here again!

Idili was for us the most beautiful location we have stayed in so far in Greece (and we have been at least 50 times in the last 15 years, in almost all of Greece). My children were very happy to live at Idili. The location is very picturesque, beautifully arranged, but also very comfortable, located in a quiet area of ​​the village, but very close to the village center, with taverns, shops and everything you need. Also, the breakfast was very good, with natural Cretan products, every day. We especially appreciated the kindness of Markos and his family. They are wonderful and very welcoming people, whom we will remember fondly. I 100% recommend this location and we will definitely come back at some point. Special thanks to Markos for making us feel very good in his location!

The apartment... We were in Hyacinth... is in a beautifully restored traditional house. It is very spacious with a huge balcony overlooking the lovely garden and a side view to the sea. The furnishings are extremely comfortable, in keeping with the property and thoughtfully chosen with an eye for beauty. We had breakfast served to the table in the lovely garden. It consisted of a very generous selection of Cretan delicacies, varied every day and was a veritable feast.. Markos and all the staff, were warm, friendly, generous and attentive to all our needs, and kept the apartment spotlessly clean with regular changes of towels and bedding. The property is in a perfect location in a quiet street but only metres from the bars and tavernas at the centre of the picturesque village. The experience embodied the very best of Cretan hospitality. We couldn't recommend the property more highly and would love to return.

“The ambassadors of Greek hospitality”

We spent a week at Markos and his family traditional house apartment. Our stay was amazing. The house itself very traditional, having old Middle Ages look but with all the todays equipment. Apartments were very cozy and spacious, with amazing garden built by Markos family. Traditional breakfast everyday were different and very delicious. If you want to feel the real Greek hospitality, you must to stay at this property. Every day Markos were taking out rubbish from the apartments and asking how our children’s are feeling at his place. We had very nice conversations every day. He also loaned us diving masks for my children’s and umbrella for free and of course very nice greetings gift :) the property are not far away from Rethymno and many popular places to visit is around 1 hour road by car. If I could, I would give Idilli more than 5 stars! This was without a doubt the most perfect stay ever. Markus, the host, deserves a phenomenal 12/10 - and I am not even exaggerating. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel at home. The breakfast, prepared by Markus' lovely sister, also gets a well-deserved 12/10. Every morning we were spoiled with fresh, local delicacies. Every day it was a surprise what was on the menu but it was always soooo delicious. The stay itself? Also a 12/10. The rooms are spacious, cool, quiet and the beds are lovely. And then finally, I have to give Markus' restaurant tips a 12/10 as well. He knew exactly where to send us for delicious food and with super friendly service. The days we Markus and his sister were the best of the whole summer. A bit redundant to write here that we will definitely go back! “Another lovely visit to this wonderful traditional house, where the family welcome is second to none”

This was my fourth stay at the wonderful Idili tradional house, which speaks volumes. I love this beautiful house where one can relax in a lovely spacious apartment, on the large terrace, or in the beautiful garden. The very large, varied and delicious breakfast is served in a lovely covered area in the garden, and the family could not be more friendly and helpful. Idili is perfectly and quietly situated on the edge of this lovely peaceful village, but within very short walking distance of lovely tavernas and the sea. I cannot recommend Idili highly enough and will surely return next year, if not before.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming small hotel in the quiet village of Panormos, Crete, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, our Markos made us feel incredibly welcome with his warm and genuine hospitality. Despite our initial hesitations about visiting Crete during peak season, Panormos proved to be a secluded and peaceful escape. The village is home to a lovely little sheltered beach, perfect for swimming and just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. There are plenty of delightful places to eat and drink nearby, making it easy to enjoy local cuisine. We really recommend going to Nikitas Bar for a drink and ice cream. The hotel's breakfast was fantastic, providing more than enough delicious food to keep us satisfied throughout the day. Our room was spacious, with a well-functioning air conditioning system, and the balcony was an ideal spot for relaxing after a day of exploring. We only wish we could have stayed longer, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. We will always have fond memories of Markos, Idili, and the village of Panormos. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful and welcoming stay in Crete.

Magnificent apartment with everything you need in a quiet location, 5 minutes to the sea. The kitchen is well equipped, the air conditioner works perfectly, the garbage is taken out every day, and the towels are changed every 2-3 days. Owner Marcos is a very kind, friendly and caring person. He has surrounded us with care and attention from the first minutes of our stay in the apartment. All the time I had the feeling that we came to visit close relatives, and they are trying their best to anticipate all our desires and needs. I highly recommend it to everyone, and I sincerely wish Marcus and his family prosperity!
